if you can get Ainge to take Wallace and his abortion contract, he'll probably take any player(except Amre) in exchange for Rondo.

They sold Garnett and Pierce cheaply.
    Who knows
3 first round picks and Kris Humpheries and Gerald Wallace isn't cheap. Kris and Gerald are younger and more talented than any player are the Mavs team other than Dirk.

What the Mavs are give the Celtics 5 first round picks and 5 second round picks.

Long story short, it's nearly impossible for Dallas to trade for Rondo and get Dwight.

Basically, they would have to trade Marion & Vince Carter and take no money back in doing so (so to a team with cap space or a more complicated multi-team trade that still ends with the Mavs not getting salary back). Then they would have to renounce Wright/Mayo (to remove cap holds) & waive Bernard James/Akognon (to free up their money). If they were able to do that, they would have about 30-32M in cap space.

After all that is said and done, they would then somehow have to do a trade with Boston for Rondo (either directly or another complicated multi-team trade) where the Mavs get Rondo without taking back any contracts (so they absorb his 12M into their cap space and send nothing but picks out).

Ifffffffffff they can do that, then they could possibly have Dirk/Rondo/Crowder/Cunningham and have 18-20M to offer Dwight. Then they would be capped out with just those 5 players.

If in any part of their trades (moving Marion/Carter or receiving Rondo) someone makes them take back a contract, that directly reduces the 18-20M they can offer Dwight by that contract's amount and they would have to sell Dwight on taking that much less.

    Hope that helps, Mav fan.

    Love,

    Uncle DPG

DPG the got is right mavs ain't gettin and that little beta lincoln. The only angle we can work is going after dwight now and then having Dirk sign for much much less once his contract runs out.

I'll just trust the guys who actually get paid to make NBA transactions tbh. If they think there's a feasible way financially to get Rondo and Dwight, then there is. My doubt mostly lies in the fact that Dallas doesn't have much to offer that Boston would want.

Boston has been eager to trade Rondo for years now, which is odd for an alleged top 3-5 point guard.

Probably because he's an asshole and a stat with a godawful jumper. But he can make Sportscenter's top 10 once a night so the media sucks him off.

He's a top 10 PG and a massive upgrade over Collison or Mike James tho. If this gets Dwight on board i'm okay with it. Without Dwight it's a stupid idea imo.

Guy, why are you acting like I have not pretty much always been knowledgable about this stuff? You sound like a GNMF with that rebuttal with lacking an understanding of how the salary cap works. Trust me on this one or do the research on your own to make me look dumb.

Also, no one at all has said there is a feasible way. In fact, most have agreed with what I posted.

That literally doesn't make any sense. For anyone who understands this stuff, they understand what I posted. Again, you are ignoring the point that no one has said going after Rondo and Dwight is at all feasible with the Mavs current cap situation.
