If I am the Mavs I go after Dwight and worry about the rest later. There is a good chance some quality PG's shake loose (watch for guys like Kyle Lowry possibly getting waived).

What the did you just ing say about me, you little ? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my ing words. You think you can get away with saying that to me over the Internet? Think again, er. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re ing dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little . If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your ing tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re ing dead, kiddo.

no matter the cap space, offering broke back monkey a MAX would be too risky for us. I'd rather take Dalember for MLE or Bynum for a one-year trial rather than commit the next 5-6 years of our franchise to someone who's gonna have to pay child support for 8 kids. I hope DPG is right because an insufficient cap space will be the only way to prevent Cuban from taking the gamble on DH, someone he's been coveting since before our 11' run, a gamble that he has no chance to win.

Lowry is overrated imho. there's a reason Houston gave up on him and I don't think he's gonna be the solution to our PG crisis. If i were cuban I'd rather offer you a trial (knowing from my sources that you're quite a BEAST on the court) than sign an overrated PG to a lucrative contract.

Going all out on DH ain't gonna be a good idea for Dallas either. Dude's overrated too and his prime is approaching an end, even if he's still in his prime. his performance in LA the past season was a fair reflection of his current ability, and things will only get worse as his age grows and his athleticism flows away

I'd rather have Rondo if i'm the Mavs, even with the dead weight that is Bass and Lee. Mavs desperately need a PG......... last year was a cluster at that position

that bass is a fan favorite in Dallas imho, he would do a decent job backing up Dirk just like he used to do (assuming Brand gone). Lee is a talented player and hopefully Rick can transform him into a Danny Green type of thing. We'll be rail thin at the wing with Mayo likely gone, and someone like Lee wouldn't be a bad addition to our squad. Rondon is a stat-padder and is overrated but he's a real PG at the very least.

Long story short, it's nearly impossible for Dallas to trade for Rondo and get Dwight.

Basically, they would have to trade Marion & Vince Carter and take no money back in doing so (so to a team with cap space or a more complicated multi-team trade that still ends with the Mavs not getting salary back). Then they would have to renounce Wright/Mayo (to remove cap holds) & waive Bernard James/Akognon (to free up their money). If they were able to do that, they would have about 30-32M in cap space.

After all that is said and done, they would then somehow have to do a trade with Boston for Rondo (either directly or another complicated multi-team trade) where the Mavs get Rondo without taking back any contracts (so they absorb his 12M into their cap space and send nothing but picks out).

Ifffffffffff they can do that, then they could possibly have Dirk/Rondo/Crowder/Cunningham and have 18-20M to offer Dwight. Then they would be capped out with just those 5 players.

If in any part of their trades (moving Marion/Carter or receiving Rondo) someone makes them take back a contract, that directly reduces the 18-20M they can offer Dwight by that contract's amount and they would have to sell Dwight on taking that much less.

    Hope that helps, Mav fan.

    Love,

    Uncle DPG
Also, there'd be $3.7 Million in cap holds. They'd need to sign-and-trade for Howard to even be able to make a compe ive offer.

Damn now that it seems that Golden State has a real shot I'd bet the house he's gonna go there, Mark Jackson is gonna talk to him about God and them having the best spacing in the league... That team is gonna be scary if Curry's ankle holds up.

"There are mathematical/legal ways for Dallas to acquire Dwight and Rondo, the sort of double-play that would greatly accelerate the Mavs’ return to le contention. (Dwight could be signed outright with the trade-away dumping of the contracts of, say, Vince Carter and Jae Crowder. That would have to be done first. Then Marion would have to be a centerpiece of Dallas’ offer to the Celtics.)"
