Matt Barnes is drawing free agent interest from the Los Angeles Lakers, according to executives.
Barnes played two seasons for the Lakers before signing with the Los Angeles Clippers last offseason.
The Clippers are also interested in re-signing Barnes.
Barnes averaged 10.3 points and 4.6 rebounds last season.
He said in an espn LA radio interview a couple weeks ago that he's tired of the cheap 1-2 year contracts he's been signing his whole career, and will be looking for a multi-year, 4-5 mil a year contract in this off-season.
doubtful
He'll sign with whoever will give him the longer contract since he's pretty much playing for his last good contract in the league after paying his dues for so long. I think he'll go back with the Clippers.
Thought it was a huge mistake to let Barnes & Sessions get away…
Barnes yes, Sessions less so. Barnes can play but he has a scrub mindset and pseudothug tendencies. But he plays hard and fouls hard and we lack both.
Lakers appear to be a train wreck. They are literally begging Dwight to stay and are humiliating themselves. If Dwight walks they have no cap space to replace him. They have extremely limited trade assets. Kobe is injured. Kool & Cull are the epitome of Laker "fan". Yikes.
Lakers need Barnes because they don't have a back-up SF, at least Matty B can give you some points off the bench and every now and then shoot the 3, they need him but won't give him a 4yr/20m type of ty contract. Well, maybe they will![]()
Lakers have to try to get every player they can, that team is gonna be a disaster next year if D12 doesnt resign, Im talking lottery.
As long as you don't ring, I can live with it. Can you?
You can have that , I'm keepin' this :::

Let us proceed...
I will tell you what your problem is: You assume that whoever talks bad about the Lakers is because they hate the Lakers. And thats not always the case. Do you think the Lakers are a contender, even with D12?
I honestly think the Lakers without Kobe and D12 are a lottery team.
I thought Matt Barnes made a perfect Laker bc he looks like a 6'8 in-shape version of your typical Laker fan tbh...
In [this] NBA, yes, even without Howard. Of course without Kobe no, but, for argument sake I will include him.
The Heat do not command. No team is superlative. The Spurs are closest and even they contain flaws.
He is tired of 1-2 year contracts... oh life is so tough!!!
Lakers starting lineup consists of Nash-Kobe-Artest-Jamison-Pauworst defensive team ever?
