It seems the bad decisions that hampered game 6 and 7 have now found their way into the off season.

Bonner, 4 mil? For what he does now for the team, that is just bad business.
You realize, of course, that they have to pay Bonner that 4 million no matter what.

I haven't followed him too closely -- would Collison be worth a flyer as a veteran backup for Tony?

Collison is not even close to a "veteran" yet.

He's not really a vet back-up. Only been in the league a few years.

He's awful for them. For many reasons, but most importantly is he is a PG that needs the ball in his hands. He can't play off the ball effectively at this point in time. That's a lot of money for a bad fit and if they can bring in someone more steady and well equipped to play next to Harden, that's huge.
    Makes sense, thanks.

Thanks. I don't know why I thought he'd been around for longer than that.

Still has more experience than CoJo or DeColo though.

It is appearing less and less likely that J.J. Re will return to Milwaukee in free agency, league sources tell Y! Sports.

I could easily see a team place a bid claim on Bonner in the $2M-2.5M range, greatly reducing the amount that the Spurs would have to pay. Much, much crazier things have happened.

Was thinking it'd be more. Spurs might not be able to even do a meaningful trade like I thought.

Spurs should just let Splitter go. I have never really hated his goofy ass, but he is just too soft to play against the Heat in the finals, let alone against the Rockets or Thunder. We need a physical big to put next to Duncan.

Sounds good! I would try $4 mil for Manu $8 for Splitter and $9 to split up to offer to a couple of players...unless there was someone out there who at $9 mil would be a no brainer.

No, you gotta resign him. With him, Duncan, and Leonard in the starting lineup, the Spurs have the best D in the league. That counts for a lot tbh. Spurs just need Leonard to carry more of the load offensively to make up for Splitter's shortcomings on that end. Just about any big the Spurs could get outside of Millsap or Josh Smith (the latter of whom I don't really want) would end up being benched against the Heat's small lineup too.

Bingo. I would rather have Millsap over Splitter tbh.

Millsap isn't half the defender Splitter is. I'll take Splitter's D over Millsap's O. Guy would also want more money too.

Splitter's D is not needed against the Heat or the Thunder. His offense is. And Millsap would be able to punish the Heat for going small.
