He improves anyone's defense and he can get you an efficient 20 points per game while drawing a lot of fouls, I'd hate him off the court but his game is worth it. Before his injury he was ranked a top 3 NBA player by most analysts and retired players and what not. Plus, he gets you more fans and fills seats.

Does anyone love Dwight enough to give up the ass for him, tbh? I think Rocketfans would.

I get what you're saying but do you think his athleticism (admitting it's still better than most) will ever return to what it once was? In other words, has he lost a step/jump permanently from the injury? And if so, can he do anything to substantially improve by modifying his game despite this? I don't know if this guy can actually ever learn to play in the post. What I do think is that he may perform a lot better on a different team. He is simply not a D' Antoni guy when it comes down to it. He doesn't shoot outside and is not a finesse bigman. He wasn't going to thrive in the Lakers system regardless.

I haven't even read up on it in depth but what about this delegation of grown men being sent to him by the Rockets to lick his asshole? Maybe it'll work on a like Dwight but this is some desperate tbh.

Don't need to be a finesse guy to be a good pick and roll player if you've got the athleticism. Howard didn't have the athleticism and didn't want to relearn how he played the pick and roll.

Q: On how Howard and Nash think differently on pick and rolls:
Dan D’Antoni: Dwight was taught to pick, roll to the basket, seal and get the ball. He wasn’t pick, get the ball and then move. Steve is used to coming off the initial pick and delivering the ball without waiting on the seal. It’s a combination that takes time. Steve was hurt a good part of the year and there hasn’t been a lot of practice time. It’s a process for that feeling out to begin. I think it can happen. Now, if they allow outside pressures that you always hear to hurt the process of learning together and growing together, it could be trouble. If they can exclude that, understand that it is a process, then they have a chance.

I dunno man, Lakers' defense was absolute for a good portion of the season but then again he had to play 3 on 5 on defense because of Nash/Kobe so I guess we can't fault him too much

Yes, the question being, would it have actually been worse without Dwight? Supposedly it would have but damn that would've been bad if that's really the case.

It would have been a lot worse, Hill was out for most of the season and Pau had injuries, defense on the perimeter sucked even without the injuries, I think their defense would have been dead last in the league.

He was actually likeable in Orlando.
That was because he milked his manchild persona, which quickly became grating when he saw Bronbron teamup with 3 and Boshasaurus in South Beach and Melo join STAT in Manhattan.

So he wanted to join DWill and got Kirby instead.
