If Oden is healthy, he might be a great fit for the Spurs.
Splitter will be resigned and then people will be ing why we didn't get a broken Oden instead.
They can say that but the guy's been dying to go to the Heat for a while now because he's a front-running cripple who wants to be literally carried to a Championship. Dude looks older than The Admiral anyways. him.
If Brandon Roy is healthy, he too might be a great fit. Too bad he just retired due to his injuries
With Oden's history, You can only bring him in on a complete flyer, because there's no guarantee how many games he'll ever play for you.
Oden should only play while wearing a full body cast. Not even Duncan's knee brace can help Oden now.

Oden fits well in Miami. They don't need him so the pressure would be small. If he's ready his role would be bigger. Miami can take that risk.
If he's smart he'll strongly consider the spurs for his future...If he wants to be part of team that will most probably be broken up and not contending after next year then he should go to the Miami Heat
I assume Oden would only sign a one-year deal, maybe a two-year deal tops. If he comes back and plays well, he'll be in line for a much bigger contract.
this is a worse then the clamoring for t mac to get playing time.
If Miami wants Oden, the Spurs have no shot.
A healthy Oden is a great fit for any team
If he's smart he'll strongly consider the spurs for his future because there is nobody better than Pop in dealing with banged up players. Pop is the master at managing a player's minutes. With the Heat, Oden will be expected to guard the elite big men, and play big minutes therefore increasing the likelihood of getting reinjured.
I really,really want Oden. Spurs need to take a risk like this.

One of those could of would of should of guys but heck even Bowie had some productive years when he was traded away from Portland. While he won't be what he was projected to be he could fill a nice roll for a few minutes a night
Wow, he hasn't played since 2009. That's a huge risk. He apparently keeps having micro-fractures in his knees.
Hope he's spent all that time off having adamantium inserted into his knees.
Micro-fracture is a kind of surgery that is used to stimulate scar tissue growth on the ends of the leg bones to replace/act like cartilage.

Anyone heard whether Oden will agree to work out for any teams? If not, the big risk becomes even bigger.
The issue about Oden, obviously, is that "does he still have enough left on his tank to play?" He had undergone numerous surgeries to repair his weak knees and it was reported to us that all went successful but it is very alarming that he hasn't played for about 3 or 4 years. I would be surprised if the Spurs are considering him as replacement to Splitter - if Spurs don't match other team's offer - or for him to play significant minutes. Moreover, considering that the Spurs are in the all-in-to-win-it situation now that they are in the final years of Duncan's career, I rather that the Spurs use their money on signing Manu and other proven free agents.
