The Spurs are going to use their five-year extension on Tiago Splitter and not save it for Kawhi?

If this is true its Spurs overreacting.. I mean really? 9M for a guy who averages 10/6 and plays 24 minutes? Really? Spurs better have some kind of plan to fuse him with David Robinson

david west got 12 milion a year for 3 years at his age
houston would give splitter this type of money if howard said YOU
THIS
I'm not a fan of the deal, but I'm expecting unbearable posting again. I will be downstairs for a bit.
manu got 14 last year for what
Thats a different story. You know that.
IT'S A BACK LOADED ING CONTRACT. R.C IS NOT THAT STUPID.
Solid point
Not a bad deal if the terms are right.. Also still leaves us wiggle room for a solid addition.
Houston is maxing out Josh Smith after DH says no.
Not as bad as it sounds for current cap:
With the yearly increases for a Bird FA, this deal will start closer to 7M for 2013-2014. The bigger numbers will hit in years 4 & 5, when the team is rebuilding around Kawhi anyways.
Not really a bad deal, considering the current state of big men and what Tiago could probably get from other teams (I expected him to get $10mil+).
Still, not really what I was hoping for. Guess the FO is higher on Splitter than most of us are.
he played well in the playoffs except in the finals. im not even mad about the deal. we are gonna need him to get back in the finals.
Tiago brought some heat against the big teams. He was crucial in memphis.
