The New York Knicks are interested in Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard Monta Ellis, but the chances of landing him are slim, CBS Sports reported.
Ellis, 27, recently turned down a two-year extension from the Bucks that would have paid him $11 million per year. The Knicks only have a $3.2 million mid-level exception to spend due to the salary cap.
However, Ellis' agent Jeff Fried has indicated in the past that Ellis is willing to take less money to be on a contender. Also, the Knicks would have more money available if they lose free agent guard J.R. Smith.
The Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets and San Antonio Spurs are also reportedly interested in Ellis.
The Knicks acquired center Andrea Bargnani from the Toronto Raptors for Marcus Camby, Steve Novak and draft picks but the deal cannot be made official until July 10.
The Bucks have placed a priority on re-signing point guard Brandon Jennings. Also, the team may sign-and-trade unrestricted free agent J.J. Re .

Pacers have agreed to rescind Tyler Hansbrough's qualifying offer, I'm told, which immediately makes him unrestricted free agent

In the days of the old CBA, it would have been 5 or 6 years easy.

The main effect of the CBA doesn't seem to be dollars per year, but the number of years offered. 3/36 for West and 4/48 for Evans are each $12M per year, but in the old CBA I could easily see Evans getting 5/60 or 6/72 from some dumbass GM.

This Dwight Howard saga needs to end already. There's no way he's still unsure of where he wants to play. He knows, and is just soaking up the attention and pampering right now.

Yeah, so much for that "quick decision." OTOH, it's funny seeing how desperate LA is.

Do you think he'd have it any other way? With all the crap that happened when he ed his way out of Orlando, I can't imagine him making any sort of firm decision until he signs on the dotted line.

The whole FA period could be messed up by Dwight. Would it surprise anyone if he took an extra week and didn't sign anywhere until the 17th?

It was getting his own reality show tbh.

Let's see if the Rockets give him his own variety show as a counter offer.
Maybe the Knicks will get in the game and give him a Broadway musical.

"The Dwight Howard Experience" -- opening May 1, 2014 after he concludes his playoff run!

I think if they amnesty Bonner, they can afford both. As long as AK isn't asking for the moon.

Rip Hamilton will soon be a free agent as the Bulls will waive him rather than guarantee his $5 million salary for next season, source says.

Is this good news for the Spurs considering Kirilenko?

Does this make AK more likely to not receive an offer from Minny? Has any other teams even showed interest in AK besides Spurs?
