So that officially knocks the Clippers out of the O.J. Mayo sweepstakes, no?
Clippers got marginally better, but the flaws they've had the past few seasons (bigs' inability to spread the floor, ty system, PG best player, giving Deandre Jordan a lot of minutes, etc.) still exist, and now they don't have Bledsoe to cause the Spurs problems.

Clippers got better, but that's a lot of keesh for Re . Too much imo.
He lives in Austin during the offseason, was thinking maybe that'd give him extra incentive to want to play for SA for less money. But was a longshot regardless.
New gm trying to re-make the team, doesn't care about the deals the old regime made would be my guess. Kendall Marshall probably doesn't have a place in their future, and Dragic is movable if they want Bledsoe to be a point guard.
If the Clippers got Dudley then that's a solid trade for them IMO.
CP3/Red /Dudley/Griffin/DeAndre is an upgrade IMO but it doesn't get them past OKC/SA tbh.
Money aside, great deal for the Clippers.
With all the big names that had been floated around in connection with Bledsoe, it has to be somewhat underwhelming to just land two borderline starters. Sure, they can shoot a lot better now -- but they're worse defensively and there's more pressure on CP3's meniscusless knee.
The strategy against the Clippers remains to force Blake and DeAndre to do anything other than dunk, cover their shooters and turn CP3 into a scorer. Don't see them as a legit threat until they add a piece that isn't relatively easy to account for outside of CP3.
Not sure how this makes the Clippers better at all. OK, they get some slightly better % 3 pt shooters, but from a "starters" type minutes/overall player perspective, I'll take Butler and Bledsoe over Re /Dudley any day. As timvp point out, Re is either hurt or fading in the playoffs (and $7M for this guy???), and Dudley's stats this past year, based on the minutes he played and the fact he played on a bad team, were anything but impressive. Would assume Doc has a plan and these two guy fill "niche" roles, but I like this deal for the Suns.
IMHO, Bledsoe isn't a starting point guard. Just doesn't have the instincts.
If I'm the Suns, I probably go small and start Dragic and Bledsoe.
The trade makes the Clippers more complete, but they're losing a great player. Bledsoe wrecked havoc on our backup guards last year and offensively he was less predictable than most other Clippers and was capable of scoring himself.
Bledsoe was easily the most overvalued trade asset in the last 2 years. I'd rather have George Hill as my starting PG tbh.
Suns are going to be terrible the next couple seasons regardless. Solid move by them imo. Milwaukee's the real loser here, although he could've just left for nothing so at least they got something.
How so? They were going to trade Bledsoe regardless and the longer they've waited, the less his value has become. They fixed their biggest need, which was outside shooting. They overpaid a bit for Re but that's just FA. Good trade overall for them imo.
they got 2 picks for a guy who was walking anyways so not bad. the thing is they did lost but did so last yr when they sent out the promising tobias harris to orl for a red rental, which its ok if youre competing for a championship but not for a first round sweep
Good move for the Clips but it doesn't put them over the top.
The sad thing is that they don't even need to add a piece, they just need better player development for Blake and DeAndre. There's no excuse for the way those guys have plateaued when they're clearly capable of more.
Solid offseason for the Clips. Anything that pisses off Lakers fans I like.
cp3s happy.
need griffin to man up tho
Unless Blake suddenly starts playing up to his potential, I still think the Spurs or OKC can take LAC in 6 (if healthy obviously).
Nice trade by the Suns. Their new GM is good so far.
JJ Re is so overrated. You guys overrate him so much on this forum you'd think he was a prime Ray Allen. Lets be realistic here, he's average at best. Caron Butler was a potent scorer who could really shoot the basketball as well. Bledsoe was their only advantage against us, imo, and now he's gone. As a whole they downgraded on both players.
No, Bledsoe got traded for the most overrated trade asset of the last 20 years: JJ Re . The Clippers desperately need a third big, and they traded their premium chip for Re , a guy who literally cannot execute more than one dribble in the NBA? Unreal.
