How can Minny even offer that when they don't have the cap space cleared?
    Bruno

I'm assuming it's because they have not officially signed and they have time to make room? But if they don't then obviously it would need to be a S&T or the deal dies, correct?

Kirilenko said yesterday that he doesn't want to be a backup, so I don't know why would he come here.

they basically took the 10 million that Kirilenko turned down (and change) and gave it to Buddinger and Martin
Sort of. They don't have any cap space at all, and they never really did. They're most likely going to have to sign-and-trade for Martin. That means they'll be more than willing to work with the Spurs for Kirilenko.

People still don't get it somehow, they think he's dying to backup Tiago the vagina...

So they can't just sign Martin? There has to be a S&T coming? What about their Pekovic situation?

Cause we're one of the few teams he could join and be a contender. Pop and R.C. just need to have a conversation with him. Let him know that even though he's coming off the bench, he's still going to play a lot of minutes, esp since we're going to try and play Timmy and Manu (if/when he re-signs) even less minutes this year than last. Explain the small-ball line ups to him and how he'd still get a lot of run. I think he'd come around. Plus we can offer him 3-year contract, which is what he wants.

Kirilenko could get 25 mins or more if he signs with the Spurs. I'm sure he'd be fine with that.

They had about $51 Million committed before signing Budinger, and that didn't count their draft picks or Pekovic's hold. So they don't have any money to offer in a straight deal. Pek is protected under Bird Rights, so they can match any offer for him.

Let Neal walk, amnesty Bonner, sign AK47, and use that extra cap space to bring a SG. Would be awesome tbh.

That doesn't make any sense . If OKC says "no" the deals dead then. How on Earth can you offer something that you can't make happen under just your own power?

There's really no extra cap after signing AK. He'd take up most of it. It would be better to S&T Neal and use the resulting TE for one. Or you know, just keep Neal.

Same way Golden State can offer Howard a max deal. People offer deals to players they can't afford to sign outright all the time. That's how most sign-and-trades work.

Would much prefer the former if we can get decent trade value.

If "what to do" with Neal/Bonner is seriously an impediment to signing Ak47, I'll personally go to SA myself and pull a Tonya Harding on each one of them.

They'll show next year's Finals in prison and I'd never have to buy a drink in San Antonio again.

Neal got here at the same time as Splitter and clearly outplayed him during the last 3 years, hit many clutch shots including in the POs.

Patty could fill Neal's role if Pop really wanted tbh.

I'd take 1/4 of what Neal would make to chuck 25 footers early in the shot clock and lose my man on defense.
