A Spurs championship does not merit "the happiest time of my life". My own personal accomplishments>>>>Spurs chip... for me anyway. You can talk about "heart" and "suffering" and any other bull sports cliches all you want, it still doesn't change the fact that it's just basketball. Oh and I'll ing post where ever the I want.

Doesnt matter. It's all about flexibility. An extra 2 mill in cap space wouldve gone a long way not just in signing a FA but maybe a possible s&t. The only reason I'm not overly pissed is bc Manu was ridiculously underpaid during the contract he signed in 04.
I just don't buy the theory Manu strongarmed anything... I'm sure if the Spurs needed a discount from him, he would've given it to them... but that's JMO

What's the thread le, Bene, I can't get there thru the link because crab ass Kori blocked me.
It was in the first game of the series, let's not act like he closed them out with that shot. And his 8 turnovers in Game 6 outweigh anything else in the playoffs in my eyes
wasnt this clown already on a loyalty contract? wtf did spurs overpay to keep this clown?
doesnt make sense, spurs should be going in a different direction that is rebuilding around Kawhi, not adding/minus pieces of around the previous TOSB big 3 idiots....
so ing beautiful
![]()
out through last season playoffs he has done alot of that is very questionable...stupid plays after another then makes some bull clutch shot, then every fkn moron just forgives his previous bull plays...
if he didnt have any bull plays, the team wouldnt be in position to be playing from behind and relying on miracle shots to win games...
how many games did you felt that this clown is going to do something very stupid in the final seconds last possession games...a vet doing boneheaded rookie mistakes is not warranted...
^You can't turn your back on him, TD. Without him you're not at 4. Each of your core corresponded to that Finals defeat. To single Manu out for derision & punishment/banishment is wrong. They were there when you needed them each of the 4 times. Now, for the first time they need you. Where are you?
laying an egg with 8 turnovers while continue to get minutes for that game?
we were in that game every damn possession until this clown continue to dig a bigger hole for the spurs to climb out of...
you cant forgive and forget for his plays for the last 6-7 seasons man, thats like 2-3 rings missing from the trophy cabinet
but wankers upstairs love to live in the past and not the present, to give him that contract...
if you going to hate, you cant just single out one player and have a different set of standards for another
Most of us aren't turning our backs on him, we all appreciate what he has done for this franchise. But he was absolute dog in the playoffs and most of the season and outside of three games he was mostly MIA...and in one of those games he didn't do until he hit that three against GS. He forced terrible shots, I mean his ing chucking from three point land is ridiculous and most of them are awful step back three pointers early in the shot clock. I love Manu, but he cannot be excused for his garbage play this postseason and we all have a right to criticize him for not taking a paycut when Duncan/Parker are being paid way below market value so the team can compete. Some people here want to blindly suck Manu off and excuse him from everything but I try to evaluate them all equally. If Tim Duncan shat the bed against Miami, and he really is my favorite player, he would not be excused from criticism either. I still want him on this team, just disappointed heavily in recent events compounded by his resigning for 14 million.
But, you live with Manu, you die with Manu
But, he took a 50% cut from 14 to 7. That in and of itself is terribly humbling. He has not mouthed off, or, lodged a grudge over it. He took it like a man.
So, you're going to start all over again with a fresh face and trust that guy to get to 5? It's so ing hard to win a ring. You don't appreciate the concept because you don't have to experience that gauntlet. You just want the ring. You're spoiled, TD, and an ingrate.
Given the opportunity and without risk of physical, or, even verbal retaliation could you cast him down exactly like you have to his face? If you can't do that then you're just still experiencing the grieving process of a Finals defeat.
but 14m to 7m is not much of a difference, when he was already on a loyalty contract, now you give him another loyalty contract who hasnt been the same since 2011 b4 the broken hand?
7m for his talent, which is what btw? turnovers? spurs overpaying for his services when which other team was going to throw the money at him?
But, Duncan did spot the sheets as well, Lee. Those missed layups and the turnover were incredible.
You can criticize them, they'll understand and they'll take it, they're professionals, but, at the end you have to be there shoulder-to-shoulder, and then they'll know.
It never even crossed my mind to cast Magic down in the Summer of '84. I grieved with him, cried with him and Worthy and Scott. Of course I had no inkling there'd be a liberation of the old just a year later. I could just see it in their faces that Tuesday nite in Boston when they were being humiliated and ruined. I was aghast, pulverized with emotion. I never flinched though, or, judged them.
You're angry and not thinking straight. It's normal after what happened.
Oh I agree Cubby, Timmy definitely ed up on that bunny and he knows it. But just like I'm not focusing on Manu's late turnovers in Game 7 (because he did in fact come to play, the timing was just terrible) I won't focus on one bad play from Duncan when he did everything in his power to win and played well most of the series, especially in Game 6, his performance would have been legendary stuff had Pop not gone full re with 28 seconds to go. But Ginobili's issues were more than one play or a couple plays, it was pretty much consistent inconsistency throughout the entire playoffs
A lot of people are not even close to over that Game 6... they won't be for a while... that's just the fact of it. When you talk Gino right now, the discussion inevitably comes back to G6, every time.
At some point people will move on... just not happening right now, especially with no games to move over to...
