Manu has always been the unpredictable charge. You've been extremely fortunate that he has not cost you before this. Like Daddy with us. We went that entire time in Los Angeles and he never cost us due to his free throw a en and lack thereof. It was surreal. We enjoyed great fortune with O'Neal and he never cost us. Same thing with you and Manu,,,Manu contributed to this calamity, but, he was not the sole reason. Pop & Duncan were closest to the conflagration when the clock ran out.

i said the same upstairs, it's like we've given Manu two loyalty/legacy contracts in a row. I don't think other teams would've paid what we did. It's sad a guy who blew our fifth ring is more beloved than Duncan, but that's just socioeconomics at work.
I'm just holding out hope that Manu justifies the 7 million this time, that he doesn't played injured or out of rhythm when it counts. We'll see. If we don't win again then we'll know that we held onto our big 3 too long, but hopefully we have at least one more chance in us.
tough call, TP has once again escaped without a lot of blame, but you knew he was going to let his selfishness something up. It's in his nature. I knew as soon as he was saying about Green, "yeah I can't believe they are leaving him so open", i knew Parker was going to go heroball in order to win that Finals MVP.
i dunno what socialeconomics or what money manu brings to the team when they struggle to fill the stadium even with 2 dollar tickets....
rather they stay under the cap and just collect nba revenue lux tax sharing, then overpay for scrub
this clown next season better have a lesser role on the team, this is the era of kawhi now...i dont want to see kawhi continue to take a backseat to turnoboli, parker, green, chuckerneal
You don't want to inundate Leonard. No reason to. When he arrives you don't want him departing in the next breath (like so many do).
You're fortunate to have Manu. You won't realize that until he's gone and you reach for him.
i'm glad we re-signed him. I'm a fan of Manu, even after his horrible Finals. But Manu is the ultimate live by the sword, die by the sword type, and unfortunately he's more of the die by the sword now. I feel we overpaid him, as I think most on here do except his crazy fanboys. But I'm glad he's still here, he just needs to take on a lesser role that doesn't include him turning it over as much. the jury is still out though on if this newest contract will come back to bite us, hopefully not.
the last 7 seasons if the spurs didnt reach the final 2013, everyone would be wanting the spurs to go in a different direction and start rebuilding around KAWHI and towards the future, then riding whatever is left in duncans tank with the other 2 coatriding clowns...

You have changed, Leonard being the fine example. Yes, build around him, but, don't use the tried & "true" method of crowning him. Go against the grain here, make an example of this blueprint, and don't shout it from the mountain top. Just do it and let the result speak for itself. Mix him, so you can't see where Duncan and Parker start and where Leonard leaves off. Where's the fire? There is no hurry. Duncan is going nowhere, neither is Parker or Manu. Plumb the absolute depths of their goodness, send them out barren vessels.

The only backseat Kawhi has taken to was Stephen Jackson's. It was a blessing in disguise, but if Stephen Jackson wasn't waived prior to playoffs, Kawhi wouldn't have even see the light of day come playoffs time...

^Yep, him walking away after decimating someone like they were beneath contempt. Didn't even look back. That's beautiful, like Mutombo's finger, or, Magic pointing straight at Jabbar after a connection. It was all like a planned ballet where the participants know their exact places and schemes and everybody played their part correctly. The guys that were left in Manu's wake took it, why? Because they deserved it and it was all right. Why did the guys take that finger from Mutombo? Because it came from Mutombo's heart and not his hate.
It's almost completely gone now, but, not forgotten. Never forgotten.
As much as a I hate the Celtics I remember this part in a book of Bird's I read. He carpooled with Buckner and picked him and his wife up enroute to Game 7, '84 Finals.
