The point is not whether or not should LAL do a S&T, it's the fact they publicly declared they would not . I hope they stick to their words because getting Bogut/Klay would be a haul. But in order to save their face and not make their franchise a laughing stock more than they are, they can't cave.

Bogut and Gasol will work for me....I'm not used to seeing two weird looking white boys man the paint but they have the size....we add Klay and maybe a Nick Young and we're in bizness patna

This deal gives the Lakers a young piece in Barnes (21 years old) to build upon for the future. We already know that Nash is the only one on the payroll after this year so we keep our 2014 plan in tact due to Kobe, Pau, and Bogut all expiring - and team option for Uncle Festus Ezeli.

The 2013-2014 Lakers starting lineup:

In 2014 we'll have enough dough to go after 2-max players to get us back in the contention mix.
