After re-doing the computation, the max Utah could offer to Millsap with that trade is a starting salary of $5.7M for a total contract of $32.8M/5 years. If they are willing to give him a 5 years contract, it might allow them to keep him but it's not a given.
Morey's going to pull this off
Dont be surprised if Cuban starts belong up this team.
-If the Warriors can flip Bogut/Barnes for D12 without giving up Klay, then they're a legit threat in the WC.
-Cubes is going to throw big money at one of the guys the Spurs are hopefully targeting. Maybe even both.
Plan B?
DWill
CP3
Howard
Jefferson
They're at least at Plan E by now.
The best option for Dallas would be to tank this year.
I'm fully expecting the Mavs to throw some crazy contract at Andrew Bynum now. Let's just hope that they don't go after Millsap or AK47.
What's left to blow up? They've got Dirk, and............................................... ................???
In 3...2...1 Cuban is going to drop big money on somebody just to make a move.![]()
Well... I guess you could say Dirk IS the team at this point?
That's exactly why SA signed Splitter so quickly. Cuban's plan B = OVERPAY
They would seem to be a threat - but I can't imagine that Cuban will tie any money up with either in a multi-year deal that they'll definitely want. Gotta think he'll sign a bunch of sub-par guys to 1 year offers again and move on to plan C next year. Meanwhile, the end of Dirk's prime just fizzling away...
Dallas gunna make a run at Josh Smith now or what\? Been pretty quiet surrounding him.
Houston getting a chance to stick it to Dallas and LA...
Exactly.
I feel safe in predicting that there will be contracts signed this summer that make Splitter's deal look like a bargain.
Dwight Howard is insufferable.
I know it's the Mavs we're talking about, but I doubt they sign Millsap or Kirilenko, since Millsap and Nowitzki can't consistently play together and Kirilenko is redundant with Marion already their. They'd be better off keeping Marion, who's an expiring.
Bynum, I agree, they'll probably be all in on now.
If I had a choice between Millsap and Kirilenko, I'd take Millsap. I'm intrigued by Kirilenko, but I can't deny that it would be at least somewhat of an awkward fit. He doesn't really have the strength to defend PF's consistently nor the shooting to be a stretch four. Millsap, on the other hand, would be a seamless fit.
He knew that he was getting signed to whoever lost out on Howard. I don't see how he fits with Dallas though.
Josh Smith could be a good fit in LA. An Amare type player with Nash could work
Millsap will end up going to Houston.
mavs may push and over pay smith because rumor is if rockets do not get howard they go after smith
Andrew Bynum might go there also
cuban has money to take a shot at his body
or he could even offer oden crazy money on a one year deal
