@ 5:00 mark...This video was taken a few days before the fight, he says his dream case scenario of the fight is losing...he seems very down in the whole interview. WTF? I dont believe it was a conspiracy but why was Anderson so mentally done with the sport? This guy went all Mariah Carey?

Stupid points arguing Boxing > MMA. If boxing was really more dangerous than MMA, I can't understand why a boxer wouldn't take his skills and fight in the MMA instead. The definition behind Mixed Martial Arts means any type of martial arts, INCLUDING boxing. If a boxer really thinks he has what it takes to knock someone out and hit someone 10x as hard as a fighter in MMA, it'd be stupid for him not to.

You can sit there all day talking about broken orbital bones, but Rampage Jackson suffered broken ribs and was bleeding through his mouth.
And itd be stupid for an MMAer to step into a boxing ring with a boxer professional boxer. You can argue both ways. They are both great in their own right.

My point is you cant start training at 24 and be champion by 27 in boxing. It takes a lifes dedication to be a world champion boxer.

I believe it's the same way with the MMA. Even though a lot of people dedicate 4 years of training to get into MMA, I believe all the people who climb into the ring have had previous experience in some form of martial arts, so it's not like an Average Joe climbing into the ring and learning how to fight in 4 years. Many fighters have had pedigrees in wrestling, Kickboxing, Karate, or some form of martial arts in the past. So to say that someone can just train 4 years to fight in the MMA isn't so much warranted.

Why would a top boxer go mmgay and get paid less than what he's making in boxing?

The only boxers that go to mma are old shot to past prime fighter that desprately need money. Basically a last resort

Sylvia was the biggest joke ever. This was before Mma became mainstream. You do realize boxing is a aspect of MMA? To call boxing "tougher" is plausible.

I understand what you're saying, I always find myself defending Boxing over MMA but give the sport its due credit. These guys are getting paid jack for the most part and still get in that cage and fight and get treated like by their promoters aka Dana White.

To sum it up, Mayweather wouldn't last 1 round with GSP in a cage and GSP wouldn't last 1 round with Mayweather in a ring.

Brah I watched the fight at Hooters last night with my homeboy. The hooters chicks were lookin fine but Silva was not. I knew once after Weidman took him down and they started grappling Silva was in some serious . Then instead of respecting his opponent, he danced around like a little with no guard whatsoevrer. I hear he does that a lot but this time he got burned. I was actually rooting for Silva in the beginning just because the hype portrayed Weidman as overly y cornfed motha a but after Silva started that Muhammad Ali , I was like "knock that arrogant mo a out". And he did.

Why dont MMA guys dont ever go get in a boxing ring? Why is it always the boxer having to fight MMA? They dont because they know they would get destroyed.

At least the old boxers have the balls to fight an MMAer by their rules and with no MMA experience. Never seen an MMAer get in the ring with a boxer.

Good point. Silva is a good striker by MMA standards but I think he woulda gotten destroyed by a second tier boxer in his first few boxing matches. Wouldn't have lasted this long tbh.

Honestly, I was never a fan of Silva because I was a Rich Franklin fan. i remember the day my cousin who is the biggest fan of Rich actually bought tickets to see Rich fight some guy named anderson silva like 7-8 years ago.

We were all stunned at this guy and were rooting for him to lose for a long time, after all these years I have to admit he and Fedor are the GOATs. I think with Silva he took a turn for a little odd with the y stuff...its mind games for him. It eventually blew up in his face, I hope he accepts a rematch.

Different rules my friend. In MMA, you open yourself up to a wide variety of attacks and guards... more freedom. In boxing, you're purely restricted to using your arms and leaning on your opponent but that's about it. I simply think the learning curve for boxing is too hard. An MMAer will probably be so tempted to kick another boxer in the face inside the ring because he's just so used to that type of fighting style tbh

The real question is : In a street fight who would win? Any re know the MMA guy would destory the boxer in real life.

The funniest thing is.. in a real fight, any MMA fighter ranked from #500-1000 would leave tthe greatest of all time boxer unconscious on the floor, in front of his girl

How the can you diss a sport that has that capacity? Lol at box s
