Gathering corpses to fortify Nash, it's clearly a tank year to everybody except Kobe Bryant.

Front office too ...but even with these feeble attempts we still may not win more than 30 games.

isn't getting veterans on one year deal the exact opposite to tanking? i thought they should have filled the roster with young undrafted scrubs..

It makes sense for him. Kaman is the master of putting up empty numbers on teams with no expectations to get that next grossly overpaid contract.

    Chop/chop.
I don't run. I muster up a speed walk at most. Doesn't change the fact that Jeanie got on her back.

The backlash from a true tanking, such as what Utah is doing, would be immense. These single year deals coincide with two major contracts falling from the books and a deep draft with a shot in the dark at a good pick. If the corruption of Stern/Silver have merit, a 30 win season would be all the team needs to tank.

You're not a Spur unless your wife is a or you someone else's wife. The Lakers are better than that.

They have a pick this year, genius.

As L.A. sent away future first-round draft picks last summer in order to acquire Howard and Nash, they were sure to hang onto their first-rounder in 2014. Wiggins is considered a generational talent along the lines of Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron James. But even if L.A. doesn’t end up with the No. 1 pick to land Wiggins, Duke’s Jabari Parker and Oklahoma State’s Marcus Smart are considered can’t-miss prospects, as well.

My bad, I thought it was traded to Houston as part of the Jordan Hill trade.

i'm sure you'll like 10 years of borderline lottery
Not sure if you really believe that or not. But like it or not, the Lakers are really the only NBA franchise that will never go through too long a dry spell. In their franchise history, the longest they went without at least getting out of the first round of the playoffs is 3 seasons. Now there have been championship droughts, but they'll reload sooner rather than later, and much sooner than any other NBA team would in a similar situation. That's just what happens with the Lakers.

From the bench?! I aint glum. Just a realist. Glum was two weeks ago around these parts ... the silence was deafening. I am afraid we won't tank. Take another sweep or just barely miss the playoffs. Kobe will kill himself to return for a "busted season".
