Kareem only had to verse scrubs like Wilt, Robert Parish, Hakeem, Patrick Ewing, Moses Malone, Bill Walton, Elvin Hayes, Bob Mcadoo, Dan Issel, and the other "weak" bigs of the 70s and 80s. There is no way that these scrubs would be able to compete against the dominant centers of today's game like Dwight and Bosh.

Kareem only had to verse scrubs like Wilt, Robert Parish, Hakeem, Patrick Ewing, Moses Malone, Bill Walton, Elvin Hayes, Bob Mcadoo, Dan Issel, and the other "weak" bigs of the 70s and 80s. There is no way that these scrubs would be able to compete against the dominant centers of today's game like Dwight and Bosh.

Pointing out the exceptions doesn't disprove the rule. The 70s and 80s were a weak time for the league. The Lakers making it out of the West 8 times in the 80s is a function of that weakness.

Lebron, Wade and Bosh would have absolutely no chance against a team of Magic, Worthy and Kareem or a team of Bird, Parish and Mchale. They'd probably even struggle against an average team of the 80s like Hakeem and Ralph Sampson's Rockets.
