"You skipped level 2 and missed nothing important." (I half agree)
This is as good as the Breaking Bad RPG.
I'm giving this show one more chance. Started the series last night.
Bodie is my favorite character as well.
I'm on my 2nd viewing of the series. Halfway done with Season 3.
don't really care for or follow entertainment weekly but i think they got this one right.. the wire ranked #1 on list of all time greatest tv shows

Yeah, Wire is probably tops for me too easily. I've watched it through 6 times now and I am still not tiring of it.
I hated Ziggy Sobotka. The guy just seemed out of place. Frank on the other hand... in boss.
2nd season I almost fast forward to past all the pollock scenes.
For whatever reason, I judge people who like The Wire but don't like season 2 more harshly than I judge people who don't like The Wire at all.
Season 2 is the worst season, though. The dock workers are the least interesting characters in the entire show. It's still good, but that's mostly because all the other characters Season 1 carried it.
Frank Sabotka is one of the best characters that show ever created.
Fully disagree.
the creator of spurstalk's favorite show gives his take on the trayvon martin verdict

'The Wire' creator David Simon "ashamed" at Trayvon Martin verdict
The Wire creator David Simon has said that he is "ashamed" to be an American after George Zimmerman was acquitted of murdering Trayvon Martin.
The unarmed 17-year-old was shot dead in Florida last February in a case that caused outrage and highlighted race issues in America.
The jury accepted Zimmerman's claim of self-defense and delivered their verdict last night (July 13), leading to many high-profile public figures expressing their anger at the outcome.
Referring to America's 'stand your ground' law, which permits the use of force in the event of an "unlawful threat", Simon wrote on his website: "You can stand your ground if you're white, and you can use a gun to do it.
"But if you stand your ground with your fists and you're black, you're dead. In the state of Florida, the season on African-Americans now runs year round. Come one, come all. And bring a handgun. The legislators are fine with this blood on their hands.
"The governor, too. One man accosted another and when it became a fist fight, one man - and one man only - had a firearm. The rest is racial rationalisation and dishonorable commentary.
"If I were a person of color in Florida, I would pick up a brick and start walking toward that courthouse in Sanford.
"Those that do not, those that hold the pain and betrayal inside and somehow manage to resist violence - these citizens are testament to a stoic tolerance that is more than the rest of us deserve. I confess, their patience and patriotism is well beyond my own."
Simon added: "Behold, the lewd, pornographic embrace of two great American pathologies: Race and guns, both of which have conspired not only to take the life of a teenager, but to make that killing entirely permissible.
"I can't look an African-American parent in the eye for thinking about what they must tell their sons about what can happen to them on the streets of their country.
"Tonight, anyone who truly understands what justice is and what it requires of a society is ashamed to call himself an American."
Simon, dead on as usual. Florida is basically another country.
season 2 is unfairly picked on. its actually aged rather well. people just see it as an intermission to getting to the main storyline. it was better than that.
i have no clue how people dont trash season 5. it was awful. that whole storyline about making up the . that was when i said "finally i have a complaint about this show", but for some reason people dont seem to see it.
I think season five is fantastic thematically. It's on an episode-by-episode basis that it suffers.
season 5 was the worse season of the wire (which makes it better still than 99% of out there).
First time viewing and already 6 episodes in of season 1 as of last night. How the do they extend this to five seasons?? Great tension and writing on every level. This is definitely worth all the hype I've read. Looking to finish the series by Thanksgiving.
Ok. Just marathon season 1 in 3 days and into season 2. What a ing television series. Just great writing all around. I heard the port season is ok but so far I'm very invested in the characters remaining and the smuggler storyline is interesting.
Good show but I stopped in season 2, i was like, he will not work on the same place anymore. Really?
I think Season 2 absolutely kills Season 1. Season 2 starts really slowly, but gets incredible about halfway through. I think it's my second favorite season of the show, and that Season 1 is arguably the weakest.
It gets better than season 1??! . That's a huge statement because that season was near flawless.
