Asked if he might be writing off the 2013-14 season, looking ahead to next year when the free-agent market and the draft will be more favorable to rebuild the team, Bryant responded sarcastically

''Fold the tent. White-flag it. We have no shot,'' he said. ''Come on, guys. Jeez.''

Except in 2007 when he asked for a trade and threw the entire Laker franchise under the bus..

Except in 2006 when he quit in game 7..

Except every time the Lakers get eliminated from the playoffs and lose by 25+..

    pretty much.

Only thing Rapist doesn't give up on is an innocent woman's ass, but he gave up on the Lakers. if not for Stern trying to salvage his MJ 2.0 via MVPau, Kobe would've bolted. if he was such a winner he would've stuck it out with Charlotte, but he wanted the easy way out on his career. Go to a team that pays more than everyone and receives more officiating help. stay classy san diego.

“If you’re 21 and you tear an Achilles', you can come back and be 100 percent,” Huh said. “But when you’re 34, your body doesn’t really recover that way, and for him, with the injury coming to his jump leg, that same explosiveness he needs probably is not going to be there. You can’t really say what percentage he’ll come back at—80 is realistic, he could be 90 percent because of how hard he works. It won’t be 100 percent, though.”

We will see Kobe Bryant in a Lakers uniform again—with an extraordinary recovery, that could even happen in this calendar year. But we won’t see the guy who ranks third in the league in scoring or the guy who plays 38.6 minutes per game, second in the NBA. Kobe will be back, but with this injury, it will be difficult for him to ever really be Kobe again.
