Lakers agreed to terms with SG Wesley Johnson...1-yr deal for vet's min of $1 mill. Was 4th pick in 2010 draft, played last season for PHX.

Was kind of hoping the Spurs would take a chance on this guy. Oh well.

Oden? Makes sense if you want to keep him off the Heat. Only example that comes to mind of an injury plagued big man turning into a reliable every day player is Ilgauskas.

I guess if the cost of the gamble is the vet min that's not a bad one for his talent. Still, it would take a roster spot you could use for a project or for real insurance on IR.

lol - worrying about a roster spot on a team that has wasted one with Bonner for years and years now...

    With only the mini MLE and min contracts, Lakers have done a great job with Kaman, Nick Young, Wesley Johnson and Jordan Farmar. Saying that, it doesn't make them a good team and even making the playoffs will be difficult for them;

Yeah I don't expect them to make the playoffs either but I think they added some interesting pieces once DH left.

    Nash/ Blake
    Bryant/ young
    Johnson/ ?
    Gasol/ hill
    Kaman/ sacre
That ought to be good enough for at least 6th.

sas, okc, hou, gsw, lac, den, mem all will finish ahead of LA in my opinion again. My sleeper for that 8th spot are the Pelicans.

This could be just a homer pick since I'm from Portland, but I can see them surprising the league next season. They had the worst bench in the league last year but were a playoff contention for most of the season. Now with Lopez, Robinson, Wright, and McCollum added to their bench, I can see them being there next year.

I don't see Denver in the playoffs next year either tbh. I think two out of the T-Pups, Pelicans, and Blazers make the jump.

Damn, that has to be awkward for Milwaukee.

Ferry with the wishy-washy, lull-the-other-team-into-a-false-sense-of-security-before-ripping-their-hearts-out goods.
He totally played the Bucks. Jennings was asking for 12mil a year. He got Teague to accept an 8mil a year contract. Ferry instead of S&T, just match Teague's offer leaving the Bucks in an precarious situation now with Jennings.

Ferry can always tell Teague that he was their 1st option, can't say the same for the Bucks & Jennings.

According to NBATV, James Anderson was just waived. The Spurs should pick him up off waivers, which would allow them to keep a potentially great long-term deal for him.

Do we really want to use our last roster spot on a guy we cut last year who would be our 8th guard?

James Anderson? Been there, done that, no need to see it again.

Anderson can be a serviceable back-up 3 if needed. Should Thomas not keep up what he's doing at SL and the Spurs salary dump De Colo and/or Mills, I'd be fine with the Spurs picking him up.
