Anybody walking around your neighborhood at 2-3 am with a hoody is su ious. IMO any race. If you don't feel that way IMO then you either are ignorant to criminal mindset and behavior or you can pay someone to do that for you.
OK............you are being followed. Some asshole asks you what you are doing and confronts you. Do you have the right to ignore him or not? If he continues to harass you, do you have the right to tell him to back the off? If he continues to bother you, do you have the right to defend yourself?

you're assuming and adding alot. You don't have the right to attack someone. If you have to use self defense, then it is only if you cannot run. But that's not the case.

i'm just going off what i've heard. "the system" is constantly mentioned, but usually in different contexts. some say the judicial system is out to get them, some say the educational system is out to get them. which i don't understand since the same public school system that white kids go to are equally accessible for black kids, and heck, applying to college with similar credentials usually gives minorities the upper hand, since the colleges always strive for diversity. people could look at me and see the white skin and assume i'm all privileged or w/e but i'm a first generation american with both my parents being born in Armenia. they moved as kids with dirt poor family, used the american public school system that is "so out to get minorities" and made out fine. thats why it irks me when i hear this all the time

A Cop's take on the Verdict
George Zimmerman:
George fits into a special category that we will just term the perpetual wanna-be. He loves guns, he loves MMA, he watches cops. He fancies himself a criminal investigator in the making. He patrols in his personal vehicle, keeps a police scanner and thinks that he has a direct line into dispatch. The dispatchers on night shift probably do know him by name only because he shows up on caller ID so much. On the night in question he probably sees Trayvon and for some tragic reason made his mind up that this sneaky perp wasn't going to get away from himthis time. His GUN makes him do things that he shouldn't do because he is basically a coward. He follows, attacks, then is bested in a ground fight by a 17 year old boy that he outweighed by several pounds that he then decides to shoot at point blank range. Even the fight scene that played out in Zimmermans mind was written like an urban contemporary movie with Trayvon's last words saying "you got me". (really?)
As a police officer you are trained to use the necessary force to subdue the threat but if there is no longer a deadly threat, deadly force is no longer necessary or approved.
Translation = Had this been a real police officer, his ass would be in deep . The local police knew he was a cheese ball. That's why they never hired him. They probably knew him by name.
I think what we have in George Zimmerman is a person who very likely has tried to be a police officer many, many, many times but couldn't for some very good reasons. He has probably tried to apply to police departments and could not pass the entry requirements. Now from the surface you would say this is because of his size. You may surmise that he probably couldn't meet the weight or fitness standard. But I disagree. I would wager that Mr. Zimmerman has probably never gotten past the psyche evaluation. I'm sure laws prohibit the release of applicant information but I would bet that he has applied to at least 2 or more sheriff or police departments in the area and has been declined. You see even in a big city it's a relatively small community. Once you begin applying and fail a polygraph or fail a psych, that follows you. Chances are he's failed a few and has likely been blacklisted. Judging from his demeanor and some of the witness statements he may have some delusions as well. As many voter purges as FL has done it is amazing that this man was able to purchase a weapon after an altercation with police and a DV but I assume that is what having a father in law enforcement will get you. Just from the 30,000 foot view Zimmerman probably never should have been able to purchase a gun. Zimmerman never should have held the job that he did. And Zimmerman never should have been able to get away with murder but he did.

the american education system isn't out to get anyone but it sucks, especially in inner cities. i don't remember the exact number, but chicago closed down several schools just recently. i even posted a video of a young kid protesting against it because he fears for his life having to go into new and dangerous territory.
the prison system is modern day slavery. minorities are being sent to jail for drug offenses for years, meanwhile whites committing the same offenses aren't serving half that amount of time. i'm not making this up, doggie.
as far as your skin tone, the same thing happening to minorities in america is happening to brown/black people all over the world, fam. fair skin and you're in. its why so many jamaicans and afro-latinos are bleaching their skin and perming their hair; they want to fit in with the people with fair skin because they think it gives them some type of advantage and helps them assimilate into white society, its sad.

It was about whether Zimmerman had the legal right to defend himself. He did. end of story.
Unless you actually think Zimmerman decided he wants to attack the kid, but decided to call the police before he did so. Sure, he was probably following Martin when he didnt need to, but does that warrant an attack and bashing the dudes head into the ground?

FL has SYG law, if you "feel" threatened, you aren't obligated to retreat, you can stand your ground and shoot the other person dead.
TM ran ("retreated") when he saw he was being followed, as GZ said in his 911 call, then when he saw GZ still coming after him, he felt threatened, quit retreating, and stood his ground with his fists, to be murdered by less gun fellating vigilante.
Except he wasn't murdered. Didn't you follow the case?
ok, so Zimmerman was following Martin (not illegal). Martin felt threatened and attacked with his fists. Thus Zimmerman obviously felt threatened while having his head bashed and stood his ground. Where's the illegal act, again?
There was no illegal act that can be demonstrated that night. Zimmerman followed Martin. It's not a crime to do so. Martin "stood his ground" and attacked Zimmerman. Not an illegal act. Zimmerman defended himself while in fear for his life. Not a crime. I don't understand the problem, unless there is proof that Zimmerman struck/attacked first
