Less than two days after a Florida jury found George Zimmerman not guilty in the death of Trayvon Martin, juror B37, one of the six members of the anonymous panel, signed with a literary agent to shop her book about the trial.
The news comes with a bonus video: juror B37’s entire voir dire captured on film and promoted today by Gawker. The process by which counsel on each side of the case interviews prospective jurors is revealing in all kinds of ways, and a useful lesson in the strengths and weaknesses of the jury system. In the case of B37, it is also master class on how to not know anything about something everyone else knows about.
Start with the general observations already raised in Gawker: B37 consumes no media beyond the Today Show—no radio, no Internet news and no newspapers used for anything but lining her parrot cage. Perhaps because she does not consume any media, she was under the false belief that there were “riots” after the Martin shooting. She also described the Martin killing as "an unfortunate incident that happened."
But the tape raises another question that should be debated in every trial advocacy class in America: What were the lawyers, especially the prosecutors, thinking when they seated her? Why didn’t prosecutors use one of their peremptory challenges to nix her? She’s contrarian, she raised serious ontological doubts about the nature of truth-seeking, and she was only ever truly animated on the subject of rescue birds. A mere two days after finding George Zimmerman innocent of the murder of Trayvon Martin, juror B37 in the case has signed on with a prominent literary agent, as a prelude to a book deal. This juror is a woman who hates the media and went into the trial mistakenly believing there were "riots" over the case.
- During questioning, she referred multiple times to "riots" in Sanford after Trayvon Martin was killed. "I knew there was rioting, but I guess [the authorities] had it pretty well organized," she says at one point. In fact, despite a great deal of salivating anticipation by the media both before and after the trial, there were no riots in Sanford, Florida.
- She referred to the killing of Trayvon Martin as "an unfortunate incident that happened."
- Asked by George Zimmerman's attorney to describe Trayvon Martin, she said, "He was a boy of color."
Juror B37 found George Zimmerman not guilty. Her book will surely make her a lot of money.
B37 isn't going to write a book.

Poor George Zimmerman. For the rest of his life he will be unfairly judged for something he feels like he has no control over. People who he does not know personally will forever be silently wary of him wherever he is and make assumptions about him, kind of like the assumptions he made about Trayvon that night.
By killing a young black man he simply inherited all of his problems.

I saw her interview last night and it was funny to read all of the twitter comments. People really hear what they want to hear. She contradicted herself, sounded just as dumb as when she was on the stand and played the race card, which has obviously been fed her by her attorney and Ben Crump.
The real travesty of this case is no longer that Martin died, its that so many people are still trying to make this a civil rights case. The media has spoon fed this to the public and they embrace it. From showing pictures on 12 year Martin vs. fat Zimmerman in an orange prison jumpsuit to perpetuating the myth that Zimmerman is white. Last night, Piers Morgan actually showed a tweet of Don West's daughter, as if some tweet from a teenager not the least bit involved in the case proves anything at all. Not being an election year, the Zimmerman trial is the gift that seems to keep on giving to the media.
Judging by the massive butthurt being displayed by Creepn, Trill Clinton, Lebomb, boutox, etc. this one is gonna keep on giving in here.
Get back to me when new school decides to start using more than just nouns, action verbs, and one word adjective sentences to express themselves.
Yikes. She shouldn't do any more interviews, tbh.
