Every basketball player dream is to play in the NBA but to represent your country is a different type of expcerince. That team first concept says a lot. Manu and Tony at there ages still trying to compete year round can be looked at two ways. One being selfish to the ones paying there bills and staying loyal to your country. I don't know but I'm stuck by the two. Apart of me wants them to show the loyalty to the spurs too. But good looking Kawhi, lead by example my dude.

When you're running out of track on your chances to win a championship, and you come as close as Kawhi did, you go all in to make another run at it. I hope his knee does get better.

I thought we already knew that he was going to be rehabbing his knee this summer? What did he have...tendonitis, right?

I'm glad Kawhi is sticking by his word and deciding that resting his knee is more important at this juncture.

You can't compare Kawhi to Manu and Tony....they're sports icons in their countries. Not even 1/4 of the country knows who Kawhi is.

This...it's plain ignorant to act like it's the same situation. As much as I want TP and Manu to rest, they're the "MJ" of their respective countries. Them sitting out would be a WAY bigger deal than Kawhi sitting out for Team USA.

Regardless, I'm glad Kawhi made this decision. Between Kawhi being 100% and the team recognizing he needs to be a bigger part of the offense, I'm real excited to see what he can do for us next year. When was the last time the Spurs sent someone besides Duncan/Parker/Ginobili to the all-star game? Might be time to change that.

Even though I know he was probably itching to play inside I'm glad he's not. He's still 21 and he will have plenty of opportunities to play.

Again, comparing Kawhi to Parker/Ginobili doesn't make sense. Kawhi isn't an icon and role model for the majority of kids playing basketball in America. Parker/Ginobili's status in their countries is very different from Kawhi's status in America.

As much as you all like to make it seem like it's a no-brainer decision when it comes to deciding whether to rest in the summer or play for the national team, it's really not for guys like Parker/Ginobili. You have to understand the situation those guys are in.

The solution is very simple: LET ARGENTINA AND FRANCE PAY MANU AND PARKER 8-14M A YEAR EACH, THEN THEY CAN RISK HOWEVER MUCH HEALTH WISE FROM 19 TO 38ISH.

Then they can "volunteer" their time with the Spurs, and then will see how much France likes it when they get injured, and wear themselves down to the nub with the Spurs.

Justice is a river that flows both ways.
