This may be a Spurs board, and I am certainly a Spurs fan, but I am being totally unbiased when I say that Nelly rained down truth bombs on that First Take clip. I think he had a lot more to say, but held back. Kobe is a spoiled brat, and when the Lakers FO traded Shaw away to placate Kobe, the assembly of the brat known as Kobe Bryant was completed.

The media saying Howard couldn't handle the bright lights of LA is nonsense, and a complete copout...nothing more. They simply couldn't accept that they got dumped. LA is like that stuck up girl at school, who has been voted most beautiful... Somebody comes along and says they don't want to go to the prom with her, and immediately, people say something must be "wrong" with the person who rejected her.

people calling lebrons teams stacked, saying his supporting cast is really good
kobe was IN the supporting cast for 60% of his les, and arguably '10 as well (kirby definitely deserved fMVP in 09, but '10 probably should have been pau)

Kobe NEVER had seasons like LeBron has had in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 where he was the undisputed best player in the league, MVP, and Finals MVP. People going on and on about clutchness when just about every clutch stat shows kobe is below average and just jacks up a ton of shots, while LeBron averages more ppg in game 7's than anybody else in NBA history, including MJ

Not to mention Kobe is under 41% from the field for his career in the NBA finals.

rofl at the butthurt ensuing by Lakerfan. "omg who cares what Nelly thinks he's irrelevant no one listens to his music now!" speaking the truth and all of a sudden he's nobody but if he was sucking kobe's i'm sure the tune would be "omg nelly is such a profound basketball mind even he can recognize kobe's greatness!!!!"

Why do people feel the need to talk about Nelly's career? That's not the topic nor the point of the thread and what was said.
Don't be obtuse it speaks to credibility. If he is not expert in his given field (hip hop) why would anyone care about his bball takes? Maybe he is speaking truth but his words carry no weight, also cuz his lyrical skills lack substance I can't take someone that raps e-i-o seriously.

If that is the case, you can't take many rappers seriously. For that matter, you can't even take Jordan seriously (or Kobe) because look at their talent evaluation skills.

But they are both experts on playing hoops. If MJ criticized Kobe and I'm sure he has, you respect it cuz he is arguably the GOAT. Nelly is not even a top 25 rapper all time. Half of wutang is better. Both members of outkast, tribe, blackstar, common, Jay, Kanye, Rakim, Chuck D, Cube, DMX Em, NAS, Black Thought all could better raps than Nelly tbh.

that is the weirdest logic ever. Rapping has nothing to do with basketball. At all. Someone could be an awful rapper but a much better student of the NBA and their opinion would obviously be more valid.

Being an expert on playing hoops, does not (as evidenced by MJ's failed attempts) make you good at evaluating talent.

mj's failed attempts are overblown he drafted players based on potential. its called lottery for a reason, you take gambles, each is an unknown commodity, it can be based on luck. there are too many great college players that didn't amount to anything in the pros, otoh, there are players that didnt flourished in college but completely developed their skills under a different program. gm's who picked them doesn't make them less qualified than you or me, now granted there are some who continually failed at that level but its a risk they take.

morrison was a big time college player in his division, kwame was a HS player that had tons of potential, in an era where HS players were making a lot of noise, it was a logical move. morrison was questionable, but no one thought, not even morrison himself thought he'd sucked that bad at the pros. you can't fault mj for taking risks.

The ol' country sport has a point. Kobe isn't so much a black mamba as he is more of a teammate killer

Kobe is a great player, and there is no denying that, but his success has gone to his head.

One moment Kobe is taking about how much he hates to see MWP leave the team, and how important he was to winning a ring, and the next he is stating that he won't take less money so a better team can be built around him. Black Mamba clearly making an asp of himself.

Howard is by all means no angel, but he was smart to leave LA. As long as Kobe was there, losses would always be blames on Howard, and wins would always be attributed to Kobe.
