ball don't lie
i told myself while watching this it's just summer league but the officiating's gotten to me
damn game to early for me, wish it was later
Denmon or Thomas 3 coming up?
Makes you appreciate the NBA officials after watching this .
Baynes is money. Only guy in Summer League who has been impressive IMO.
Thomas has had his moments but the flaws are noticeable.
Cavs needed all those points from top draft pick last year to win
Baynes was fun to watch, glad he was alright after that scare earlier
De Colo sucking the big one once again.
Not that I care about SA losing a SL game, but this refs. Simply terrible.
Positives:
-Denmon looked good, even if he was overwhelmed. You can see the leadership that he showed in college. I'm rooting for this kid, and hope he doesn't push the Spurs for a roster spot this season.
-Baynes seemed to have snapped out of his funk. He wasn't that good from mid-range, but he competed hard in the paint.
-De Colo kept a good at ude even while shooting poorly. It wasn't perfect, as he seemed to lose his cool at times. But I didn't get the impression he was still thinking he was too good to play in the summer league.
Negatives:
-Thomas crashed down to Earth hard. He has a lot to do in these next two years, whether in Europe or Austin. Honestly, the team has better uses for that roster spot, so let's hope it's the former.
-Injuries. Hopefully Joseph is all right. Baynes seemed to get a niggle as well, but he shook it off. Someone getting hurt is the worst-case scenario, obviously.
-The non-prospects once again got too much time, in my opinion. There's little reason to have only one roster member or draft pick on the court for stretches. Some of them may key plays, but all of they are just clearly too flawed to play in the league right now.
-Richards had about the worst stretch for a big man I've ever seen in terms of him understanding what to do on the court. His screens were awufl; he couldn't box anyone out; he failed to seal is man in the post. This guy needs to go somewhere where he can just learn how to play the game. I don't even mean a team. He needs to go to a school. He flashed a couple of interesting moves, but he was too out of position to take advantage of them. I doubted he'd get playing time for the rest of the summer league. But with only the consolation game remaining, he may well get a lot tomorrow.
So..due to having a job, I couldn't catch the game but it sounds pretty bad for nando? Is this the same guy that was upset for not getting minutes down the stretch last year? and .. he can't cut it In the summer league..wow.
Today showed how bad that De Colo can't play point guard, kept looking for his shot more than facilitating and then when he did he forced the issue way too much.
did Pittman get to play, and if so, how did he look?
I thought Baynes and Denmon looked good today.
Thomas's shooting cooled off. Want to see how he bounces back in the next game.
Baynes played well, has a really nice hook shot. He's improved every game.
Pittman played a decent amount. He actually had a number of really nice plays including a pair of solid blocks. He generally made a solid impact when he was in the game. Probably showed enough to get a camp invite somewhere. San Antonio just doesn't really have a lot of need for his skills considering the options that already exist for us.
