When my daughter calls it's usually.."hey dad, is mom around?" When my son wants some advice, watch the rasslin', toss the ball around, it's him and me. There are just some things where a daughter needs her mom and a son needs his dad. No teenage girl wants to talk to dad about her little situation. No boy wants to come to his mom over that school bully.

I know here's where we read....

If they both love the child, that's all that matters.

Stats have proven that kids who are adopted by gay parents do just as well...............

I find that hard to believe. Just yesterday....

    Mason...wanna wrestle?
    me...I'll just kick you ass.

He can't play that with mom, he can't go to the movies to see....The Avengers, Ironman, The Hulk, Thor...with mom. He can't drink a beer (at 19) with mom, , we have to sneak around. He can't talk about girls with mom. He can't...that Ryback (rassler) is a monster, he's bigger than you...with mom, she has no clue who Ryback is. Mom can't teach him how to fight, lift, play ball. How to play some harmonica, slide guitar.

Imagine two gay guys trying to raise a little girl, come on, that ain't right.

Shouldn't a child have the right to be raised in a normal setting? Would it be fair to them to deprive them of a mom or a dad? Why would anyone want that for a child?

As we all know kids can be cruel, showing up at some school function with your two dads, we all know how that's going to go.

If at all possible you place a child in a traditional home setting, that would be with a mom and a dad. Anything else isn't fair to the child.

No, it's not fair to the kid. I'm all for them sponsoring a child if they want, though.

Society continues to evolve. Normalcy is completely objective, plastic, and redefined as society moves in a particular direction.

"Stats have proven that kids who are adopted by gay parents do just as well...............I find that hard to believe."

That may very well be, but stats do not lie. Nor do the mul ude of studies conducted on this.
I've known mothers who could handle these "manly" topics...my Grandmother was one of 'em.
Alternately, I was able to raise my daughter quite well. We had many discussions you seem unable to fathom. They happened, and my experience is really not unique at all. Would she have done better had her Mother and I stayed together? Unquestionably, no. Her mother shaped object was completely unable to raise her and her brother which is why the court awarded custody to me.
Would she have fared better had she been raised in a "normal" family? Dunno. That definition is changing as we speak. In a "traditional" family,(the phrase you seem to be working towards), there is no question children benefit from a balanced, Mom+ Dad perspective. But to say that without a man and a woman in these roles the child is being somehow shortchanged is demonstrably false. Conventional wisdom often is.

While I personally don't really agree with sexuality, which is my right, I don't know that I would prefer to have some poor kid rot in the system over living in a home with people that will love him/her. That's a tough one that my wife and I have talked about. Not tough in that I would say no to them adopting just tough because of how I feel about sexuality.

Before I get beat down with the "what's wrong with two people who love each other" stuff, it's my right to disagree just as it is their right to live that lifestyle. I would never tell someone that they can't live how they want to I just choose not to agree with it. I'm not telling you that my way is right or the only way.

You're right, they don't need either one. Let them bounce around in foster care and in group homes. That makes WAY more sense. In fact, take away all those children who have single parents.

So you know women who played HS football, know all about the rasslin', have been in a lot of fights...? You know women where a boy would want to talk about girls with them? You know women who get out and change that flat while hubby watchs. You know women where it's them who get out of bed at 4am to check that noise in the night while hubby hides in the covers? You know women who will buy the boy some beer and sit and drink one with him? You know women who play poker with their son? I don't.

So you have no problems with two gay men trying to raise a little girl?

You do know there are also studies out there (will paste if need be) proving that the best situation for any child is a normal life with a mom and a dad.

Talk to me about real life here and how the other children view that abnormal situation. All the kids but Johnny have a mom and dd or a mom anyway, then there's his two dads. What will the other parents be thinking?

So if a child could be placed in a normal home or a gay one, you'd wouldn't care which one they ended up in with everything else being equal?

Now you are just reaching. Who says guys have to play football and "rassle"? Growing up, I used to go to my mom all the time for advice on chicks, it helped me out big time in that department.
Who says that the wife changes the tire while hubby watches? Who is to say that there is even a hubby? People get divorced, die, etc.

Either you are just trollin' trollin' trollin' or are really that stupid. I pick the latter.

Stupid is not knowing the difference between a man and a woman. Yep, we are different...honest!

A boy needs to grow up with a man in his life, if you don't understsand that I can't help you. Tons of studies have proven that...fact. A girl needs her mom, that's simply common sense, once again tons of studies have proven that...fact.

Believe it or not there really are some things a boy can only get from a dad and a girl can only get from her mom.

So you know women who played HS football, know all about the rasslin', have been in a lot of fights...?

lol. Playing HS football means very, very little in the larger scheme of things. Any grandmother from Texas could give you a run for your money re: classic rasslin'. More popular than soaps with that crowd. lol Having been in alot of fights is meaningless. My aunt could completely disassemble you, yet she never was in a fight. She was, however, Tae Kwon Do instuctor and competed nationally, so yeah.
You know women where a boy would want to talk about girls with them? You know women who get out and change that flat while hubby watchs. Obviously. Doesn't mean they don't exist.

So you have no problems with two gay men trying to raise a little girl?

lol @ trying. Your narrative chains you. No...I don't have a problem with two gay men raising a girl. I've known a few of those as well.

You do know they are also studies out there (will paste if need be) proving that the best situation for any child is a normal life with a mom and a dad.

There you go, using the word "normal" again. Subs ute traditional and you'll see I already answered that question.

Talk to me about real life here and how the other children view that abnormal situation. All the kids but Johnny have a mom and dd or a mom anyway, then there's his two dads. What will the other parents be thinking?

Seriously, what matters what the other parents are thinking? News flash. Other parents think dumb about kids with "normal" parents.

So if a child could be placed in a normal home or a gay one, you'd wouldn't care which one they ended up in with everything else being equal?
All that matters to me is whether or not the child receives the care, respect and love they are due. There are few, if any, gender qualifications for those.
