    That is real life.
No...real life is kids that are stuck in the system. I never knew just how bad foster care is until I started working directly with troubled kids. Foster parents that don't give a about the kids and only want a check, foster parents that abuse the kids, kids in the foster home that abuse other kids while foster parents look the other way...it's incredible how ed up the system is.

Gay, straight, single parent...whatever. Anyone who is willing to give up themselves and love a kid enough to adopt them to get them the out of the system is fine with me.

As long as the foster kids learn about professional wrestling, everything will be alright.

Who is talking about that, not I.

I'm talking about placing a child in a situation that would be best for them, that would be with both a mom and a dad. Obviously if everything else is equal.

    So what?

Are you going to sterilize lesbians because you don't think they will play club football?

Let me see the hands of those of you who were raised by a mom or a dad who would have wanted another mom or a dad instead of the normal traditional family.

A good place for a child is a loving, safe place outside of the system. The rest of the technicalities don't matter.

If the child could be placed in a normal family first you do that. Only as a last resort would you place a child in an abnormal setting.

So you are saying that if there was a child that they couldn't find placement for(happens all the time) it would be ok for a gay couple of adopt that child, correct?

A foster home is an abnormal setting.

If that is the case and you have no other options available, sure.

My son just dropped by with......

"Could you help me and Roy and Tony move a pool table later today?"

I wonder why he didn't ask Judy?

I was around 18, my dad was having some problems with a neighbor (forgot what) he was going to confront him...

dad..ok, you're coming with me, if any of those others jump in (never figured out who all lived there) you know what to do.

Well we never went over there but that is something you won't be seeing from a mom and her son. There was also the time he told me about the war and where he got that bayonet. A boy needs a man.

You mean me thinking a boy needs his dad and a girl needs her mother? As you sit there knowing that what I'm saying is very true.

I think all children need to be raised by a person or people who love them and who have the means to take care of them. First and foremost.

I also think that all children need strong role models of both genders in their lives. I do not think that those role models necessarily need to be parents. And I do not think that little boys need to learn how to be men or that little girls need to learn how to be women.

So a boy really doesn't need a dad, when every study ever taken says he does. Same with a girl and her mom.

At present, far too little is known about this new household form into which activist courts are pushing America—and much of what has been presented to date gives an inaccurate picture of the reality that children of same-sex parenting have experienced.

NFSS project director Dr. Mark Regnerus concludes in a piece running on Slate today that “the stable, two-parent biological married model [is] the far more common and accomplished workhorse of the American household, and still—according to the data, at least—the safest place for a kid.”

Why would any sane person not want a child in a traditional family setting? You can't be naive enought to think a woman can replace a man in a boys life.

Is funny how exactly none of these situations could be easily handled in a different way.

im for gay marriage, the whole 9 yards. im on the fence on this subject. I look back at my childhood and if i had gay parents i would have probably committed suicude from all the bullying. kids are brutal. i dont think its fair to put a kid in the fire over two adults right to be together, even though i know there are horrible parents out there.

Why do you feel the need to justify your existence in every thread, Avante?

I have never seen anyone less secure about himself than you.

It is absolutely different. However, the only time my dad's penis came in to the picture while raising me was when he was demonstrating how to clean my own when I was 3 or 4.
