It has been since the OP when you declared your own common sense and anecdotal experience to be more reliable than the numerous studies showing children suffer little-to-no damaging effects from being raised by same-sex adoptive parents.

I was recruited to play football for COS having gone to a local HS. But before I could attend my girl friend came up pregnant, o...US Navy. After those 4 years I now had mouths to feed so I got into selling health insurance (her brother was in the business). After 4 year of that I quit, that's when I got a job working days, went back to school on the GI bill.

When my daughter calls it's usually.."hey dad, is mom around?" When my son wants some advice, watch the rasslin', toss the ball around, it's him and me. There are just some things where a daughter needs her mom and a son needs his dad. No teenage girl wants to talk to dad about her little situation. No boy wants to come to his mom over that school bully.

If they both love the child, that's all that matters.

He can't play that with mom, he can't go to the movies to see....The Avengers, Ironman, The Hulk, Thor...with mom. He can't drink a beer (at 19) with mom, , we have to sneak around. Shouldn't a child have the right to be raised in a normal setting? Would it be fair to them to deprive them of a mom or a dad? Why would anyone want that for a child?

As we all know kids can be cruel, showing up at some school function with your two dads, we all know how that's going to go.

If at all possible you place a child in a traditional home setting, that would be with a mom and a dad. Anything else isn't fair to the child.

I'm not skimming through 15 pages just so my comment isn't exactly the same as someone else's. But, there are a lot of kids in foster homes with no where to go. There are a lot of kids who are living below the poverty line. There are a lot of kids who are in single parent households. There is an argument that has merit which says, men and women need positive role models from their particular gender. , there's an argument which has merit that says, kids need positive role models from each gender. Both I agree with.

But that doesn't mean it's an absolute necessity for those role models to derive from the immediate family unit. Although, there is an argument (not to say it's a correct argument, as I haven't explored it extensively) to be made that, it would be more beneficial for both positive role models to be present in the traditional sense (all other aspects equal) because it's more tangible on a day to day basis. But that doesn't take away from the legitimacy of a same sex household. If same sex couples have the means to provide for kids that need homes, or their own children, then there's really nothing to talk about. And I also take issue with hetero households that can't properly provide for their children.
