The Dallas Mavericks have waived Bernard James and Josh Akognon.

The Mavericks were forced to waive both players in order to clear cap space to sign Monta Ellis to a $25 million contract.

Dallas is interested in re-signing both players if they clear waivers.

he was a guy everyone here wanted a year ago
if Blair/Neal leaves he can make a nice 4th/5th big
kind of redundant with Pendergraph signing
but the team cant rely on a 38 year old Duncan to play every game
and Splitter usually doesnt play every single game unlike last years outlier year tbh..

I believe I read elsewhere that James has already cleared waivers and is going back to Dallas.

You are correct. I am totally shocked that NOBODY made a waiver claim for James. He is a decent bench player on a really cheap contract.

But now that James has cleared waivers, Mavs can & will re-sign him at league minimum, which is permissable after using all their cap space
