Won't help them. They can't use it for Miller. Plus, he's amnestied. He'll sign wherever he goes for the minimum, as it won't make any difference to him financially.

is NO really considering a 2 year deal for oden (MSNBC is reporting this)?
Rockets is signing everyone.
I find it interesting how Rockets have filled their roster. They have signed a lot of perimeter players which hints that they will play their fair share of small ball. In addition to Houston, other contender like Warriors, Thunder or Heat will likely also playing some small ball.
it should push Spurs to add another SF whether it's as a FA or by a trade. If Spurs stick to classical lineups, they might be fine as they are but it won't work if they have to play a lot of small ball. For example, an extra SF wouldn't have hurt in the Finals.
Thats how it appears.
Those who don't want Oden here will probably get their wish.![]()

Been saying this for a while that Spurs need depth at SF (at least 3) for small ball line ups. Spurs use a lot of guards in their line ups, while the trend now is to use multiple SFs.
* Well they did have an extra SF during the playoffs in TMac but he was never going to play and only brought in for insurance, again showing Pop's reliance on using guards in small ball. I know the options were few and far but Spurs should have signed someone, following SJAX exit, who could work in small ball instead of just for injury insurance. Granted this is all hindsight with the Finals results.

Do you think Singleton could fill that void, or is he too one-dimensional. At this point, I have to say I'm at least intrigued by the possibility of bringing in a fast defensive specialist, but at the same time, I haven't seen the guy play since he was in college, really.
No, I don't think Singleton would fit that void. He is just too bad offensively.

Mavs tried hard to avoid it but were forced Friday to officially waive center Bernard James to have sufficient cap space to sign Monta Ellis

Mavs hope to re-sign James if he clears waivers but legit chance he gets claimed given he's an athletic, blossoming big at less than a mil
Oh, yeah, someone will. Every team can bid on him.
^^ bernard james do want ......................
Bernard James would be perfect fit in every sense.![]()
He's as old as Splitter and not nearly polished enough to be a regular rotation player on the Spurs. But for a team like Miami, it's a no-brainer to make a claim.
James would be nice as a very end of the bench player who isn't asked to do anything on offense. His defense is solid, but the need at SF is a more pressing issue than bringing on another center.
I agree that it would be a no-brainer for Miami to make a claim, but I would be extremely shocked if they get a chance. I have to believe that at least one of the other 29 teams in the will attempt to acquire him before he clears.

Nice shirt, I'm still waiting to see what happens with him but I would be disappointed if they let him go, he's the best shooter on the roster and has shown up big when it mattered for 3 years, there's zero reason to let him walk, if they wanted a more balanced roster they didn't have to sign two scrubs that don't really fill any needs...
Damn...Clippers are loaded this year...
I don't get all the love by ST posters shown for Mullens TBH.
