It was really good for a chain burger, but I think Freddys tastes just as good. Both are a step up from Carls Jr., Wendys, Whaterburger, Burger King and the like.........but still not on Chris Madrids level.
Live up North. Have never understood the hype. They burger is OK; that is all. I actually think Whataburger is a step up from it....Really miss the great burger places in Texas; don't have equivalents up there. Chris Madrids; Chesters, Fuddruckers, That one in Helotes I can't remember the name of....
Shakes are good, thats about it. Burgers are meh and fries are terrible.

Haven't eaten at a Steak and Shake in at least a decade--never bothered to eat there when I lived in Pitt.
Freddy's started out fine, but, the one here (Phoenix) altered the quality of the burger and now it's just . I don't know if that is nationwide, but, it went from a decently thick burger to a paper thin model.
I've found Five Guys to be steady and good quality. There is a place about 10 miles out up on the Carefree Highway (Wildhorse Cafe) that serves a fine burger. They also serve a fantastic bowl of chili. It's a bit of a drive though and it's two lane up and back and kind of a death trap trip.
Either way, it's still just glorified Jack in the Crack.
Their food is gross.
Maybe it's just me but I do feel it disgusting to eat at a restaurant, you can't even make sure if the cook had washed his hands after taking a pee before resuming the work on your meal. What you eat and drink in a restaurant may very well contain a mixture of the cook's urine and semen, or her urine and blood if the cook is a female
I've never been, but I heard they opening one at the SA airport----don't know if more are planned for in town. I will have a Freddy's once or twice per year maybe, but I just can't take the ridiculous amount of salt they use on the meat. No way do I use the drive-thru, Freddy's has to be eaten immediately while hot or you get it home sogged out with grease.
Steak n Shake was ing gross the couple times I ate there in Dallas.

Whataburger has gone way downhill too.
Pretty much my at ude lately is that fast food just sucks horribly. I'd way rather cook and have good food for a couple of days for cheaper.
There's already on in town. Steak and Shake Signature is open in the Alamo Ranch area. There's also a regular Steak and Shake planned for just south of the Rim.
Thats the one I went to.
