The Dallas Mavericks have agreed in principle with Houston Rockets vice president of basketball operations Gersson Rosas to become the franchise's new general manager, owner Mark Cuban confirmed.

The 35-year-old Rosas, who began his nine-year tenure with the Rockets as an intern and rose through the ranks, will report to Dallas president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson.

Great move indeed. Especially with the way league front offices are trending toward basketball analytics. Big loss for Rockets.

It's a good hire but really a confusing move.... Mavs just put together an overpaid and mediocre roster, why follow that up by hiring someone who would want to blow it up and rebuild?

Good move indeed, dude has gained a lot of experience in managing a tanking & rebuilding team over the past several years in Houston. Houston don't need a tanking specialist now that they're poised to contend, and now it's our turn to start tanking and rebuilding.

Houston don't need this tanking specialist anymore, Clipper Nation with the goods... Cuban is readily prepared to tank the next season and many season to come but he doesn't wanna lose us fans so he put together a squad consisting of has-beens in order to fool us into believing that the team would still contend, or at least would still want to contend.

But his tricks ain't fooling any long-time mavs fan anymore, like myself, because we're so used to his bull s that we can even extrapolate what he eats from the smell of his fart.
