O & 46!
Nah, I got optimism for the future. Can you say the same for the 7th/8th seed bound Lkers?
Good ole' cob, living in the past.
Damn, Manu's contract really knocked Argentina down to the 5th seed?![]()
1. Spurs
2-4 (in no specific order): Memphis, Clippers, OKC
5-7 (same as above): Warriors, Mavs, Rockets
8 open for 5 teams to grab at, including Lakers, Pelicans, Nuggets, Minny and Portland.
Why are the Mavs so high? They belong in the last group.
I might be a bit biased since I'm a mavs fan and I'm so delusional that I even wanna get into a celebrity's life, but it's squarely objective to say our current squad is much better than what we had during the 12-13 season. We almost made the playoffs even with Dirk missing half of the regular season. I do believe we would've made the playoffs last season had Dirk missed less than 20 games, and the signings this summer have all but strengthened our squad imho. We have a real PG now and a decent #2 scoring option in the form of Monta. Our young talents like Bernard James will see more playing time next season and hopefully will turn out to be a black Splitter for us.
I also heard the news that Cuban has signed a tanking specialist as his new GM which's probably a sign of the rebuilding process going underway, but I'd still be disappointed if we somehow miss the playoffs two years in a row. We can be a playoff team and a rebuilding team a the same time imho.
I think there is more reason to be optimistic about the Mavs than people think, at least in terms of their playoff chances. Dirk missed half the season, and took another month to get back into form, and they still just barely missed the playoffs, and still finished without a losing record. This years squad is much improved on paper, and with a healthy Dirk, they have a solid shot of making the playoffs.
Calderon > Collison
Ellis >> Mayo
Marion = Marion
Healthy Dirk >>>>>>>>> Brand/Wright/hurt Dirk
Dalembert > Kaman
Larkin/Harris/Carter/Wright >> James/Beaubois/Carter/Wright
Looks more than good enough for a first, or at best a second round exit![]()
Mavs ceiling is a game six exit in the first round.
Messi's tax evasion, IMO.
Ellis sucks. He shouldn't be a starter in this league. He has poor shot selection, plays no defense. He can score, but he's better suited as a 6th man. I think the other moves are upgrades, but their roster looks as a team battling for the 8th spot. No guarantees Dirk will be healthy either. I don't think they will be higher than an 8th seed.
True. But, he was juiced in early and that's all she wrote.
I guarentee the Blazes will be in the playoffs this season. Possibly even top 4.
Alot of their players are overrated. Aldridge is good, not great. Batum is just a spot up shooter, decent defensively. Lillard is good offensively, doesn't play any defense. Same with McCollum. Lopez is solid at best, but average most nights. Again, no better than an 8th seed.
We ain't contenders at present time or anytime soon but a playoff seat will be a realistic expectation for us imho. Don't know if we can sign DH back when he's healed and clear from injury, I hope so because we're gonna need a decent combo guard as a backup on the backcourt. DH would be a good JET replacement for us imho
Last group comprising Phoenix and Sacramento?
My WC seeding prediction:
1. OKC
2. LAC
3. Spurs
4. Houston
5. GS
6. Memphis
7. Nuggets
8. Pelicans/Mavs/Lakers/Portland
Yeah Mavs have a better team now than last season but we must not forget that other teams also did. Even the Pelicans look like a playoff team next season. Not making it to the playoffs is unacceptable for Kobe so once he returns, he'll do what it takes to make it to the postseason. As for the Blazers, they're not rebuilding and they're still a solid and resilient team. So again, I expect another tight 8th playoff race between those teams.
I somehow have a feeling that Clippers could possibly make a bigger leap than my initial prediction and be the top team in the West. The key to that is Blake Griffin. If he becomes a Karl Malone-like player this upcoming season, other teams better look out.
No the Lakers, Wolves, Blazers, Pelicans.
The Blazers played the best teams in the league very well last year until probably the last 3 or 4 weeks of the season after the heavy minutes took their toll. They have much better depth this year and Lillard will take another step forward. They will be much better this year.
In the spirit of the new and revamped NBA forum, I predict Timmy will be seeding another man's ass.
Pelicans fan insulting other teams playoff chances.
Talk about a team waiting for contraction![]()
