Make Diaw loose about a 100 pounds and that will solve our SF problem.

I love the idea of Oden being on here. We can't relying Duncan to be our Defensive anchor anymore. I saw bring in as many Bangers as possible.

Baynes and Oden. The Bash Brothers

Never heard of a player coming back to full strength with one micro fracture surgery much less two...his knees are gone.

Jason Kidd, John Stockton, Kevin Martin, Zach Randolf, Bugot went through the same procedure once, I think

some were not lucky though, they were slowed down like TMac, Chris Webber & Allan Houston(not sure how many times, 2?)

well, Oden was young(19), when he had the procedure and age helps in going back to form. He's only 25 right?

when he returned to play in 2009-10, Oden only appeared in 21 games, but in 36 min, he averaged 16.7 PPG, 12.8 RPG and 3.4 blocks per game while shooting a remarkable 60.5%FG..before his season was cut short once again.

if he can play just 50% like that he's a welcome addition to help Duncan in the middle because of his size

Add Amar'e Stoudemire to the list, if I remember correctly. I think he came back strongly, but he eventually declined. Of course there're other factors, but can't say the surgery didn't affect him.

He's going to Miami or likely to go where the money is.. Spurs fans shouldn't fool themselves thinking that the spurs actually have
a legit chance in signing him. Even if Oden decides to play for the Spurs what are chances that he can even stay healthy?
If people think Manu is truly injury prone, wait till this guy decides to wear black and silver.
Now that I think about it, I hope he doesn't pick the spurs. The guy would be a waste of a roster spot. :|

So you think we're keeping Blair?

Thats curious. Especially since if we resigned Blair we'd have 15 players under contract and this whole conversation would be even more pointless.

In event of Dwight Howard, break glass.
But what good would breaking Oden's knees do?

Why? Who is gonna be his mentor to develop him as a big on the team? Birdman? Bosh? It he wants to improve he won't go to Miami. If he wants to get paid as much as possible assuming they give him a large offer, or wants a good party city then he will chose Miami.

They are the champs. He'll get more time on the court. I think the mentor thing, at this point, is overrated. He's not 19 anymore, he's a 25 year old man. San Antonio has a lot going for them too but I don't agree that choosing Miami would be about money and partying necessarily.

Agree. Playing for the Spurs is the best option for him because he will have a whole year being mentored by the best PF ever and HOF. If Hibbert works out with Timmy during the summer to improve his game, shouldn't that be a strong indicator in Odens decision? Not only will he be under Timmy's wing but he will also be coached by POP who will monitor his minutes and coached by Baylon (sorry if I misspelled his name) who is known to help improve the 4's and 5's (bigs) in Indiana. Lets hope he has someone in his decision making team that has pointed this out to him. It's a win/win situation for him coming to S.A. If he doesn't, i would never understand it. Nor would I ever know if infact RC and the spurs organization really was pursuing him this offseason.

Pretty much this. Years back this was a death sentence but medical treatment has come a long way and what might have been a career ending injury before is no longer the case so much today.

If he can contribute to help Duncan stay fresh all season, then he has done his job.

With Oden reportedly picking between the Spurs and Heat, where do you see him fitting in with the Spurs?

    Discuss?
    In the rehab facility...

I would say Pendergraph and Baynes are all about on the same level with each other, but ya they suck NBA stander wise. I hope im wrong though.

I really haven't seen enough of Pendergraph to make an assessment, but he seems to have a different skill set than Baynes. It will depend on which one makes the most of their minutes and fits the system better.
