I think the majority of posters on here could block Splitter.
    But, "The Block."

more importantly, if he gets 1 more championship, he instantly becomes clearly and undisputed better than Shaq and Kobe. Making him the Best in his generation. and probably top 5 best player in history.
    hahaha keep dreaming

LeBron is the best basketball player of all time and he blocked Splitter.
I don't know about best, but definitely one of the best. Maybe most talented, i still think he lacks MJ's overall will to dominate. That being said, yes, that "block" was a bad omen. It was so humiliating, and let's not forget, Tiago was blocked several more times. Pop and Manu deserve the most blame imo, but man, wtf happened to Tiago in this series. Just completely disappeared. Yes, the "block" was a foreshadowing of things to come.

Manu got all the chance in the world to redeem himself. Splitter didn't. I have no doubt he would have given the chance. People forget he had 2 crucial baskets late in game 6 when Pop was throwing the lead.

i think top 5 for sure. i also think they will get back to the finals next year and he'll get #5 and ride out on top just like D-Rob. It'll be their first le in an even year and he would have 5 les in a 15 year span.

nah, we will just claim that 1999 was half a ring.

I've never ever checked a Mavericks forum in my life. What is their obsession with Spurstalk?

The fact that he came about as close as you can come to winning at the advanced age of 37, an opportunity only granted because of a Russell Westbrook knee injury. As an objective basketball fan why would I expect Tim to ever get that opportunity again let alone to actually fulfill?

That botched layup over Shane was legacy sealing.

Agreed, but he's already ahead of Shaq and Kobe in my (obviously biased) opinion:

Shaq 3 les as alpha dog, 1 as sidekick
Kobe 1 le as alpha dog, 3 as sidekick
Tim 4 les as alpha dog!
kobe has 5. tim only has 4, and he's older

That didn't do to his legacy tbh. If anything, the botched up 8 turnovers by Manu Ginobili was legacy sealing. There was no need for a Game 7 if Pop and Manu hadn't shat the bed in Game 6. Go back downstairs and keep telling people that Timmy choked because nobody outside of Kobe s will believe that bull .

Lol, like I give a what any Tim Duncan defender says?

Damn right that shot sealed his legacy; a legacy that UNQUESTIONABLY would have gained by hitting that shot and winning the biggest game of his career. Might be comforting for Duncan slurpers to blame Manu, blame Pop, anyone but the leader of the franchise for the last 16 years for botching a gimme with the championship on the line.

Did Manu blow it game 6? Sure. So did Pop and Kawhi. But there was still a game 7 to be played Texas sized excuses aside, the Spurs were in that game and the balance of control in the 4th came down to a double miss by your Demi-god. He bricked away his chance immortality. The hardwood knows.

Lol, like I give a what any Kobe has to say?

Kobe s & Lebron s (casual NBA fans) like you don't know about basketball so that being said; Duncan's legacy was only tarnished in the eyes of the Kobe s & Lebron s. You Kobe s were rooting for the Spurs to beat the Heat because you'll were scared that Lebron might surpass Kobe's legacy which I believe will eventually happen. As a matter of fact, I think it has already happened imo. Just look at all the individual accomplishments.

At the same time, the Kobe s and Kobe himself as a matter fact were also happy that Tim Duncan didn't get his 5th ring because that would of further enhanced the fact that Duncan > Kobe since you Kobe s are ring counters. Since I know that you're going to bring in the ring counting argument let me tell you that championships are team accomplishments. Ring counting is for idiots. Bill Russell has more rings than MJ but that don't make him better than MJ.

Even with Duncan's missed layup, he's still better than Kobe. Duncan is a top 10 all-time player. Kobe is a top 15 all-time player. End of story. Now go back to trolling downstairs or go talk some to the Lebron s at the ESPN boards.

You're a Kobe . Your username says it all.

BTW: Pop & Manu prevented Duncan from further enhancing his legacy.

Please, then Pau prevented Kobe from winning more. Anyone can make excuses but your disregard for Game 7, which was a winnable game, not a blowout, makes you an non credible voice on the matter.

5 beats 4 every time... Oh so close to tying Kobe and getting the conversation with the truly great ones aka the 5 and up club.

Keep saying that, but you know that Duncan would not have 2 of those 4 rings he have (I would say 3 of 4) without Pop and Manu.

BTW: Pop & Manu are smarters than Duncan. And you are not including TP in here, why? You think that he did all good? my god, TD

He would've won Finals MVP in three different decades if it weren't for Pop. What pisses me off most is not necessarily that Pop screwed Duncan over with his ridiculously stupid decision, but he won't even get close to admitting to it.

Duncan could've won it with other guys, and Duncan is "smarters" than both Pop and Manu.

Yep because some stupid bitter lady with a pre nup and some National Enquirer type blog is the truth right? You must be as dense as your posts in here so far.... Sad but true.

Then again your team wears PURPLE so.... You should already know what that means
