He will fit perfectly on the bench along with the Cornerstone in New Orleans.
Greg Oden nearing decision on team

Free-agent center Greg Oden will decide Friday where he will play next season, a league source told Yahoo! Sports.

Oden has met with the Miami Heat, New Orleans Pelicans, San Antonio Spurs, Sacramento Kings, Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics. He worked out for the Heat, Pelicans and Kings in his hometown of Indianapolis on July 23.

Oden was most intrigued by the Heat and the Pelicans, a league source said. The Celtics, who recently signed free agent Brazilian center Vitor Faverani, are no longer interested in adding Oden.

Oden, 25, has had multiple knee surgeries and has not played in the NBA since Dec. 5, 2009.

He won't be much of a factor for either team next season. He'll get limited minutes, won't play on back to backs. He could join a young core in NOLA, but it won't surprise me if he signs with the Heat. But NOLA will offer 2 million more per season.

Miami is perfect for him. He could stay healthy because they only want him for a couple of playoff games. They don't need him in the regular season.

If he can play well enough those games next summer he would be paid elsewhere. Plus he will have a great chance to win the championship

It'll be 4 years since he played in an NBA game. I thought Riley had better sense. Yet he ran Miller off and is now french kissing this broken down bum.
