i think this is just silver and stern wanting to hide some tatoos in order to improve the league image, like they did years ago with the dress code!

It's because there is no depth to them, you don't get that embroidered look. Plus typically the shirt is tighter fit than the shorts.

Meh, it's just to increase the ad space / revenue stream potential on the jerseys once the league starts allowing sponsors logos on them.
This won't last.
Golden State was pretty good sports about it last year, but they are just one team. Once they start forcing this on more teams, stars are going to start to complain that they don't like them, they're not used to them, etc...and they'll disappear just like when they tried the new style of basketball.
i hope they make them taco cabana pink with the old logo blue and yellow for trim.
