And he said he was king of new york, oh god! Maybe now all the new york rappers will stop rapping like they're from the south and get back to giving us bars.
Whats funny is Talib Kweli said just this I believe, the same exact and I agree. New York has been riding for the longest, time fo ra new cat to step up and be the new Nas etc. and spit real bars and realize he is from NY and stop riding the Souths etc., truth. Kendrick said some there and I agree with him, there is nobody out there new repping in NY that is nice IMO.

you probably like brother ali and vinnie paz too, huh? immortal technique's flow is horrible. he was off beat throughout that entire song.
those are the funniest rap fans, tbh..the elitists that on mainstream rap and only listen to Immortal Technique and conscious rappers that constantly cry about the state of the genre, tbh..

I can appreciate both, but I tend to nod off when listening to "pure lyrics", tbh..the purpose of a song is to entertain the listener, not just spit lyrics, although music is subjective and I can respect everybody's preferences(unlike certain posters like my guy redzero, tbh)..

Rick Ross and Drake are nice, tbh..as I've said before, I have mutual friends with Drake and I've met him 3-4 times, he's a good guy, tbh..both Rick Ross and Drake aren't anything crazy lyrically, but they have a nice flow and they choose their production wisely, which is all that matters, tbh..

I also with Chief Keef, Asap Rocky and French Montana, tbh, but I don't with 2Chainz, he's too much..

I still appreciate the 90s scene, though, that's what I grew up on, especially in NY..DMX was my favorite rapper growing up, Nas, Black Star, Pharoah Monch, Ghostface and Raekwon, the Lox, Biggy, Mase, Cam'Ron, Big Pun, etc..

It's too bad lupe is too preachy and goes over everyones head. He is above these rappers in skill sets, no question.
I thought Lupe was that next thing in 06, got his first two albums and had his mixtapes. I think he got too political over time and blackballed himself and just lost his drive he had when he came out. I thought he was the next big thing though, too bad he didn't done the twitter down some and focus more on music.

He dropped that bull Lasers too, should have went straight for it and dropped FL2 before he alienated some of his fanbase.

Good post, grew up in the 90's too and still can appreciate some new cats and underground cats as well in the game. The PURPLE tape though from Ghost and Rae as you mention, NO JOKE! Wu had a of a run from 93-97 group wise and solo, pretty much untouched IMO. I also loved Mobb Deeps Infamous, great era for hip hop around that time (Never liked Mase though at all). Black Star was sick, so was Black Moon before them

this is how diss a 's city:

They weren't in a rough neighborhood like say Queensbridge or Brownsville, they were in a softer part and they got their trailor shot up for that as well (Luckily nobody hit). They also denied it was a diss when everyone knew it was.

yea fam i posted one of kweli's tweets in here where he said maybe the NY rappers will stop rapping like they're from the south. these new NY rappers are wack, especially french montana. i told my sister he was from new york and you should have seen the look on her face lol. she thought he was from atlanta.

    yasssssssss!!!

i can't stand the elitists who only listen to them boring ass raps and old ass rappers from the late 80's and 90's. i like a mixture of it all. i listen to the ratchet like gucci mane and jeezy for the drug talk and beats and when i want to hear someone with some mic skills i'll switch it up. some people take way too serious.

i never was a big fan of east coast hip hop but i do like the artists you listed minus black star and pharoah monch.

I used to listen to Ludovico Einaudi back in school when I was studying. I'm not sure where that stacks up with what's going on in here.

lol whoever posted the "Dance with the Devil" youtube

It didn't get much funnier than a bunch of suburban 16 year olds with parents who each made six figures I went to HS with jerking each other off about how deep and tragic the song about a guy raping his own mother was as if they could personally relate to the story.

LOL, you are a ing idiot, he is the greatest rapper alive today.
why? Because he's really "deep" and raps about the Knights Templar and how 9/11 was a gubbamint conspiracy?

Jedi Mind Tricks and Atmosphere are even worse than Immortal imo. There's 1-2 songs from Immortal I like while everything I hear from Jedi Mind Tricks and Atmosphere is in repulsive.

    Regarding Drake....

cleaning Rhianna's pussy after Chris Brown is done plowing it
being the shoulder a girl cries on after her boyfriend smacks her around
    cuckold

I'll openly admit I like ignorant rap and find it hilarious. The most recent 2Chainz song I could listen to nonstop was the Birthday song.
