What has he done since winning the Heisman to help his image?
    Awhhhh...

He is only 20 years old and he likes to party.
Its not his fault he won that stinking award and what goes with it.

You're right. He's getting just as much pub as Manziel on this issue.

Manziel is free to sue if there is some kind of defamation happening. Is he suing?

Wow. A company wants to make money? Now people are butthurt about capitalism.
ESPN is a media outlet and should be held to a higher standard, even if it's just sports news. The point of media isn't to make money, they have a responsibility to check their and make sure they're covered before running a story.

    Cool strawman though.

Goalpost move and straw man. You said there were no articles about him on ESPN. I said you're wrong. I am right.

They are covered. That was my point.

Cool ignorance of the goal of a business though.

Now it's a stinking award? lol

I agree he's young and stupid but he's not so young that he can't be held responsible for his stupid actions.

Since when does reality apply to the NCAA

Reality is people get paid for the work they do, but not in the world of the NCAA
Reality is it's none of anybodies business what I do or what anyone else does with their money, but not in the world of the NCAA
Reality is I can take my kid and his friends out to dinner, but in the world of the NCAA this is a violation if the friends are athletes.

The NCAA lives in their own little world, it's a world where they make the rules.
it is indeed, but the one thing a&m has in its favor is that world lacks the power of subpoena which will hinder the NCAA's ability to gather a paper trail.

not really. UT has an offensive coordinator who wanted to be an aggie. what one school loses another school gains. if that makes people feel weird they really shouldn't follow college football.

Yeah, offensive coordinator. That is exactly the same as Heisman winner. UT's offensive coordinator is going to be on the cover of next month's Texas Monthly posing as Batman.

    Aaron Rodgers on Johnny's situation:

“I love our game, but to me, there’s too much access. It’s way over the top. From the camera in the locker room, from the center being miked, to all the attention … Everybody’s watching. Everybody’s listening. And social media: If I’m out, more than likely, there’s going to be a camera on me, and a picture or video’s going to show up somewhere.

“I feel bad for Johnny Manziel. I mean, he’s made some decisions … I just think, he’s a 20-year-old kid, and I wish he could just live like a 20-year-old.

“Ten years ago, when I was in college, nobody was following anyone around. I could walk around campus [at Cal] and no one knew who I was. No Twitter. Facebook was just starting. I didn’t even know what my Berkeley.edu address was. I couldn’t get a Facebook page. So that’s how things have changed.

    Aggie's chancellor is an idiot

    http://www.star-telegram.com/2013/08...l-has-his.html

“He is a good kid. He is an honest kid,” Sharp said. “He has his heart in the right place.”

“My mother wishes I was as nice a kid as Johnny when I was a sop re in college,” Sharp said.

Sharp said he was speaking for himself when he questioned why the NCAA or a university can profit from an athlete like Manziel, but the athlete can’t profit from himself.

Sharp said college athletes who compete in the Olympics can profit from their names, but NCAA athletes can’t.

Sharp cited the Sherman An rust Act and added: “Sooner or later some court is going to say that ain’t right.”
Translation: "The rules shouldn't apply to Aggie or Johnny because we're special and good, honest!"

He's also wrong about the Olympics thing - just ask Jeremy Bloom....

Bloom played football as well. You're trying as hard as you can to be stupid.

Nah, Aggie's cornered the market on stupid.... doesn't get more idiotic than their chancellor publicly criticizing the NCAA and pretty much encouraging Aggie's players to break the rules, while also incorrectly citing legislation at a law school speech

the same OC who was their QB once and will probably be their next head coach. but to my point, it isn't weird at all. i'd rather have a player with a chip on his shoulder. frankly,
i'd be more pissed if I was a UT fan.

there are precedents where the NCAA's actions have resulted in restraint of trade. still, for now sharp should be careful because his tone could be inferred as a tacit form of approval. at a minimum, his remarks were that of an apologist's.
