    No. Cronyism is absolutely not something that was on the rise because of the welfare state. Maybe the increase in government provided more places for cronyism to exist but if your'e going to tell me politics in the 18th and 19th centuries was somehow merit based I'm going to laugh my ass off.

    Um, when someone makes a racist statement saying they made a racist statement is a critique on their action of making a racist statement.
