Weeks 2 and 3 are the only time the starters see any real time, and there's some decent matchups tonight:

    Vikings-Bills
    49ers-Chiefs (Alex Smith Bowl)
    Bucs-Pats
    Raiders-Saints

Not sure if Zach is playing, lefty. Couple of observations:

-Kolb's last 2 drives were great, but he was horrendous before then.
-Hard to gauge the defense against an AP-less Vikings, but they were dominant
-Jerry Hughes had 2 sacks (thanks, J.T.), beating Kalil on at least one of them.
    -I'm liking Hackett's play-calling

    The Raiders look unbelievably horrible.

Tom Brady is clearly not injured.

That's gotta be one of the fastest multi-play drives I've ever seen Marrone/Hackett's system is ing blitzkrieg. Hope they open it up and take some deep shots next drive--the quick hit slants and draw plays are certainly setting up for it.

EJ Manuel final statline: 10-12, 92 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT. 1 rush for 1 yd. Sacked once, though. Would've liked to see him take a couple deep shots, but I'm also happy that Hackett doesn't have him monkey-balling it and exposing him to unnecessary hits in the preseason. He NEEDS to start next week at Washington and play 2.5 quarters imo.

Offense: Overall, meh. Not bad, but inconsistent. Stevie should be returning next week and it'll be interesting having our #1 WR back. Manuel was solid but they've yet to take the training wheels off. The line played well. It sucks that we'll have to let some of these WR's go--honestly wish we could keep them all. It's disconcerting that Rogers isn't getting more run. Hogan has started both games and I gotta think he's earned a spot on this roster--a poor man's Wayne Chrebet.

Defense: No AP for the Vikings (must be said), but they were flying all over the place and blitzing like crazy. Front 7 was dominant, and this is w/o Mario and Kiko Alonso. Pettine put his stamp on this one.

ST: Powell and Hopkins were good, but our punt coverage was BRUTAL, and we had way too many penalties on KO returns. Too many penalties period.

Against Washington, Buffalo needs to start Manuel for 2+ quarters. Seeing him, CJ, and Stevie in the starting line-up will be exciting--especially with Woods and Goodwin flanking them.

You ready for next week, Lincoln?

I wish it was a preseason monkeyball matchup but cousins is suffice. Interested to see how our rookies in the defense play against spiller. CJ raped us week 1 as did his backup shonne greene

Mike Glennon had one of the better arms in the draft, but has limited mobility. Still, he'll take the Bucs farther than Freeman ever will. This year is JF's last chance

Beautiful spiral pass to the secondary by Timothy Tebow.

He was beyond brutal. Lost between Brady's brilliance and Tebow's tiness was Mallett's solid outing. Kind of curious how long NE holds onto him.
