It is pretty embarassing telling people from other places that I am from Texas. They automatically think I'm low information voter.

Texas really needs to have a new interpretive campaign. there are so many false stereotypes about Texans around the world, particularly our accents and the landscape.

"the landscape."
... one the worst aspects of TX.
east and n/e TX have some life and interest, but the rest is mostly semi-desert, flat, barren, waterless, no trees or runt trees, brush, featureless.
boutons, i'm one of your biggest fans from an entertainment perspective, but you went full re here. only 10% of TX is considered desert, and there are enough streams and rivers to cir navigate the globe three times - without taking into account the edwards aquifer.
as for featureless....lol
big bend is one of the most beautiful national parks in the US, yet it is the least visited. it's asshats like you who've never been to those places who spread stereotypes that simply aren't true, and that hampers tourism and affects you in the long run.
guadalupe mtn range, the Hill Country (enchanted rock, hamilton pool, barton springs, etc etc), the gulf coast. so much you can't even wrap your head around it. clearly you've never been out of your mom's basement.
guess where #27 on this list is?

Places you wont believe exist on planet earth
?
Which state is the Craziest? California…
The few times I have traveled to the South & local folks find out that I am from California…They generally ask
“Say something weird, come on say something weird”…
TX is mostly semi-desert, even only officially 10% desert, and mostly featureless, flat.
you're backtracking.
it's semi-arid and subtropical. you can grow grapes in Texas.
it's only featureless in south oklahoma (dallas) and the panhandle area.
just because your house looks like doesn't mean it's an ugly neighborhood.

I really care about what people from other states think until I realize that my networth is probably 5 times theirs thanks to living in the great State of Texas. I have lived in 6 different states and when it comes to quality of life and cost of living, its not even close. I will take Texas every day.
I don't know about men, but to say Alabama has the ugliest women is bat crazy. The deep south in general is 10000000000000000 x's better than anywhere except California. Yeah, there are probably more fatties, but the hotness level of the rest more than makes up for it
The caprock is one of my favorite places in Texas....and I've been all over the state. Big Bend/Davis Mtns rank right up there too.
sounds like your mom
Palo Duro Canyon says hi!
i was thinking more permian basin when i typed that
Big Bend has some amazing hiking and a couple of great drives. The South Rim is particularly amazing.
Tonto agree. Tonto also love Texas.
Fire bad.

Ok...lol. Outside of Big Spring State Park, or the Dennis the Menace playground in Midland, ain't much to look at out there.![]()
If they read your posts here they'd confirm their su ions.
Do they now? I don't seem to have this problem.
The landscape/terrain of North Texas is boring as . Flat plains and prairies and ty roads. I wouldn't be surprised if North Texas was the least visited area of Texas by tourists.
lol... great come back.. original as well.
