'I know (Manziel) didn't do what they've accused him of doing.'

Definitely feel bad for the guy. Not surprised by it though and wish him the best of luck going forward. He's going to be playing at Tyler Junior College this year.
Strong words from our chancellor.
Steve Fullhart: "The letter that came out yesterday and your comments concerning Manziel have gotten a little bit of play. Any regrets at all on making the comments?"
John Sharp: "Not at all, not at all. I know he's innocent. I know that he didn't do what they accused him of doing, and I think that it's time that we, once we knew what the facts are and we know the facts...and I've seen what everybody else has seen now, and the rest of the country is going to get to see that before it's over with. It was a bunch of hype journalism.
Fullhart: "How do you know he didn't do it?"
Sharp: "I just know. I've seen things that other folks can't see. And it didn't happen. It did not happen."
Fullhart: "Have you heard from his as well, straight from his mouth?"
Sharp: "Don't have to. I don't have to hear from him. I don't have to hear from him. I can hear from his original accusers and what they're saying now. Didn't happen, and I hate it that he would go through it, and I think we all ought to look at it from a point of view of, what if that were our son that was going through that? So take your time look at everything that happened and I don't have any doubt that Johnny Manziel is innocent of stuff that they were throwing at him."
Fullhart: "And if that is the case, should there be repercussions at some level? Can you even foresee that? Obviously there is a free press in this country. They may make a mistake…"
Sharp: "No, I believe in the free press. I think you ought to be able to call anybody anything you want to, and that's what happens. It happens in politics, and it happens in everything else. Fortunately for us, 99.9 percent of the press is great and responsible, especially you. We shouldn't have any gripes about it, but when we see something that, in our mind, is egregious, we shouldn't just sit back and say we're going to take that slap in the face at Texas A&M or we're going to allow one of ours to take that slap in that face. We're going to speak out, and in my opinion, that's what I did."
@BrentZwerneman: A&M's John Sharp told me regarding Manziel: "I know he's innocent. There are no credible sources anywhere that say otherwise."
You & "A&M's Sharp" really think he signed those for free because he just loves giving to the world so much? Please... He shouldn't have put any credibility he has at the mercy of Johnny Fake ID.
Golly. if John Sharp says he's innocent.....
http://deadspin.com/a-m-chancellor-b...-ma-1187787763In all, Sharp is tearing down the messengers without addressing the substance of the message. One year in the SEC, and A&M's chancellor is acting like a TigerDroppings poster.
Wheres the evidence that all these "mass signings" even took place?
ALL we have seen is 1 picture of Manziel signing a stack of 20 SMU game photos in a College Station Hilton.
No photos, videos, money trail nothing.
When did I ever say he signed for free?
Pretty strong words from the chancellor of the entire university system. He would look absolutely foolish if he turned out to be incorrect. Johnny will play.
He has said that he has seen information that has not been released yet but will be soon for the world to see.
Don't you believe that he did take money?
Sure as seems that he took money to me. But I have seen some pictures of autographs that look just terrible and could be faked. Doesn't mean he didn't get paid for another batch, though.
At the end of the day I believe with certainty that nothing will come of this. There's a rumor that the NCAA will be dropping their case today.
yeah pretty sure he did too, proving it beyond a doubt is another matter tho. the chancellor just sounds silly imo, dunno why he didn't just stick to bland denials.
If the rumor is true and the NCAA is announcing they are dropping their case it wont matter. I assume he already knew that.
"pretty sure he did it" = not good enough.
Where's the proof? ESPN reported it so it must be true?
If people are lying and making false accusations then they deserve to be outed. If this were the case than A&M is going to get to the bottom of it and question motives. Lets see if it gets the proper air time on ESPN once this whole thing turns out to be a sham and investigations are dropped.
waiting for the proof........ make me a believer.
I don't have to prove anything. The NCAA does, I don't. I, on the other hand, use common sense that no one signs hundreds of autographs for free and is caught on tape saying he never did a signing with him, and no one should know about it. His handler taking pictures with bags of money, Manziel in the club flashing bills with his handler. It's common, most college football players take money or cars from boosters.
So according to you Bridgewater, Clowney, Braxton Miller, A.J. McCarron all signed for money. (All have hundreds of autographs for sale online, many that resemble those of Manziels)
Tape? what tape? Where's the tape? You've seen the tape?
Pictures at clubs flashing money... did you really bring that up![]()
Denial is a uva drug. I guess you can close your eyes and pretend these things don't go on.
Thought so. No proof. Just buy into whatever ESPN is reporting and believe it. Everyone is guilty of it, including myself. Goes for any media outlet.
You didn't answer his question
Don't have to. Dumbass legitimately thinks college kids go around signing thousands of autographs for free.
What's the holdup
