Phil Jackson repeatedly said he's not coaching. Might as well say red Auerbach
So pop is the worst coach in the nba and anybody else would do better?
I am giving you this -
I don't piss in the wind. Get rid of the cancer - then we'll talk.

Your question is an exercise in futility. Popovich isn't stepping down so there's no need to name a replacement.
Btw, you asked who do you WANT to coach, not who's available. To your point about Phil, he's not coming back to coach the Spurs but I wouldn't put it past him to coach again.

lol - someone answers your ridiculous question and you retort with bull .
You seem to missing the point of this exercise
Boom. Truth nuke.
worst thing about Pop is the lack of accountability. It seems like the local media is scared to call him out. He was better before developing that air of Ambassador of American/European basketball. He has these false modesty moments about how his legacy is food and wine, but clearly doesn't want to leave while he has another chance of adding to his legacy. Not saying he needs to be replaced, because this is not your average roster, but wish he would get his straight.
I do think we should have held onto Bud but that ship has sailed. Pop deserves a lot of credit but should also be notified of when he keeps ing stuff up, whether that's because of his ego or he had too much to drink, I don't know. I don't mind him sticking around with Duncan but we should actively be finding a good replacement.
He's in that rare company with the likes of Bobby Knight and Bill Parcells that had the media pissing down their legs at the thought of any tough questions regarding essentially anything around the team or their decisions.
+1
all 3 are great coaches and it could be a lot worse, but their stubbornness cost them, as did media not calling them out earlier for their dumb .
Your right, he is in that exactly presence with those two right there and media is scared to ask a real question or side step him.
The problem is even if the media calls him out he tries to belittle them so they don't do it again. The only guy who asked him why he didn't foul at the end of game 6 was from Europe. He used that to criticize the guy even though it was a legitimate question. If you're not going to foul in that situation have use some other legitimate defensive strategy. The Spurs played no defense for the last 30 seconds of regulation. What good is it to focus on defense for the whole year and disregard it when you need it the most.
No kidding.
Your right man, true.
In defense of Pop he's obviously in an awful mood having just blown a championship after game 6 and who would be in the mood to defend themselves over coaching decisions that may have cost you the game and a chip? But on the other hand it is his job to answer these questions and he enjoys treating most of the media like they are losers that have stupid jobs and are just wasting his precious time.. Pop is not an easy man to play for or I imagine even be around for some people.. I don't know how many kids he has but he could not have been an easy father to please..
Pop is a to the media, and I wish someone would pull his card one night in the post game interview. It's getting old
in regards to Pop and the media, i remember right after Doris Burke asked Pop or Holt (can't remember) a few questions for the WCF trophy presentation, Pop suddenly turned into a drunk and told them to get lost. You shouldn't kiss the media's ass, but at least don't be insecure around others who might criticize you for your screwups.
He is funny at times but takes being a too far, like he is too proud and you can't question his almighty decisions, even when he F's up he is the kind to never ever admit it. He is is like the dad who screwed up a few times but will never admit it to the kids or his wife, just stays hard headed because of his ego. Great coach and I love him but he is to blame for this one here, period end of story.
Get over it already, it is ancient history now, new season on the horizon!
I saw this on Ball Don't Lie. I couldn't watch past the 0:10 second mark. It hurts too much.
Re: This is a video of the AT&T Center during the waning moments of Game 6.
Geez, are people on here masochistic, or what?
New season almost here already!
Why why why why why? Not watching that .
