DT Ashton Dorsey is not listed on the depth chart because he has a strained calf and is questionable for Saturday.

Interesting to see that Daje Johnson is listed as a receiver. But damn I love the talent there is at cornerback and nickel, it's ridiculous!

FYI that this Saturday each Texas player will have their number on their helmet (like Alabama does) above the Longhorn logo to honor the '63 national championship team. Like the picture below:

I don't know if y'all remember the guy, but QB Jake Waters has been named the starter for K-State. Harsin was looking at him for a few weeks as a JUCO transfer, but Texas got in the game too late:

    Thought this was interesting .

    quote:
Recruiting is a huge focus in the book, ranging from the rise of 7-on-7 teams, the task of NCAA investigators trying to control things and even a chapter on the pursuit of Sealy (Texas) High School star Ricky Seals-Jones.

Seals-Jones, once a Texas commit who wound up signing with Texas A&M last February, and his family open themselves up to the entire process. The juiciest part is an alleged offer to the Jones family from a "top-20 program" – not A&M – for the following: $300,000 in cash, use of a luxury suite during football season, eight season tickets and $1,000 per month for Ricky and $500 for the family.

"Oh, it was higher than that," Chester Jones, Ricky's dad said. "It was a lot higher than that." Chester Jones said the offers grew as high as $600,000 for his son's signature on a national letter of intent – one SEC school and one ACC school said they'd double any offer – but he declined them all out of principle and the fear of inevitably getting caught.

Lol what. Did you even read the article?

Ricky's dad would obviously not come out and talk about how much money he was offered if he did indeed take cash lol. He refused multiple offers for money and his son ended up at A&M.

The pundits hinted at this over a year ago. Of course it never made sense when RSJ said Texas still was clear leader in his recruitment even after de-committing, and then said the Horns told him they were no longer interested.

Sounds like he was kicked off of the team based on the timing.

It's odd mainly because he's a senior, but to make this decision four days before the first game is even more unusual. Plus, Dorsey would've had a nice idea of where he was at on the depth chart after spring training. It just doesn't seem like this was solely Dorsey's decision. I'll let you know if I see any rumors on the situation.

DJ Monroe was a very talented athlete, but I'm pretty sure the reason he is in the place he is now has more to do with lack of desire to continuing his career. You don't run a 4.27 40 and not have a job somewhere. I'm pretty sure he could have been in the CFL if nothing else.
