I've lived around the world, and I've never seen so much of a deal made out of race than in the US, especially in the public eye.
Maybe the revolution is within yourself instead of people having to tell you what cons utes 'right' and 'wrong' based on your proclaimed ethnicity, of which you have no control over. The answer is that there is no answer, instead of trying to balance 'race' relations when in reality we're all the children of immigrants. I haven't turned on a TV in years, and I feel like I don't treat anyone different than my own self simply because of the public label that has been slapped on them. That's because I choose not to be exposed to these labels by just not participating.
All I see are insecure people with major esteem issues who get sucked up by this (profitable) never-ending cycle of political correctness. It's a big world out there, but Americans feel like they're so special that they need to create all of these pseudo-realities 'in order to keep their boring, materialistic and unsatisfying lives remotely fulfilling. It's true, there is a big problem of structured racism in society, but that's because it is talked about over and over by all 'sides. Nothing changes because there is something inherently not right about the concept in the first place. You can have your revolution, and I'll get the out because it's not worth risking my own hide over.

well america has one of the worst histories in regards to race relations and the civil rights movement just turned 50 this week. so it shouldn't be surprising that race is still a hot topic here.
