We get it. You hate this guy. Suggest someone better.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Spurs like what they see and believe Chip can help with his shot, we might see another "Childress workouts for Spurs" headline a few weeks later after he works on the tips Chip gives him, to see how he has progressed on his shooting.
If he's a bargain I say do it, that guy isn't that old.
?? They won't teach him a damn thing about his shot unless they sign him for the season.
he can defend well and get to the rim
i say take him
Hopefully his workouts go well, as much as I'd like to keep that last roster spot open just in case, I think it'd be hard to pass up on a solid defender.. At the right price of course.
I like it! If anything it tells us the front office knows we still need a backup SF.
If Engelland is confident that, in relatively short order, he can help get him back to shooting a respectable percentage on corner threes, then he's probably the best available option at this point.
maybe if he pans out he can shoot corner 3s better than RJ.
Not very impressive.

He was highly touted by the press and coaches at one time. What happened?
Good players don't just get lousy for no reason.
I mean he was the 6th pick of the 2004 draft and Pac 10 Player of the Year!
There have been so many busts over the years. He is just another one.
Betta not sign'n any1 then dis bust
... @ huh?
I like Chill's defense...not the worst option for a player at the minimum.![]()
This. You interview him and talk him through a workout to get a feel for how coachable he is, and you have Chip assessing his form. If he seems like he's willing to do the work and listen, and Chip thinks his mechanics are salvageable, he could be a great reserve to have.
Not sure if that's a typo, but the Spurs don't need a player that shoots under 50% from the free throw line.
Not a typo!
Carlesimo was Brooklyn's coach last season... he didn't play.... looks like Carlesimo wasn't too impressed with his capabilities.
My su ion his Childress work ethic is suspect.
Steal of Free Agency (2012)???
