The Jazz were a pretty good team last year. I know they didn't make the playoffs, but they have some promise. In other words, they are in a position to make a run this upcoming year.

I actually completely agree depending on how he looks. If he is the same player he was with us, I'd love him off the bench playing around 10 - 15 minutes a game as a shooter who hopefully still has a little athleticism left. The guy really wasn't a horrible player for us, we would have been pretty happy with his production had we not all had such high expectations. Though I do consider him one of the biggest disappointments the Spurs have ever had, I don't think he is nearly as bad as everyone made him out to be if that makes sense. Idk I'd be open to the idea of him spotting kawhi and nailing some 3's.

What do you guys think about the possibility of bringing back Richard Jefferson? Before you guys get get mad and think this is a far fetched idea, let me remind you that both Sean ****** and Avery Johnson (two guys, whose numbers are in the rafters) along with Brent Barry were all traded away from the Spurs and came back for a second go-around and played key roles in 3 of our 4 les. Let that sink in for a second. I'm thinking Richard Jefferson + 2014 1st Round Pick for Nando De Colo + Patty Mills.

Here's why it makes sense for both teams...

The Jazz were a pretty good team last year. I know they didn't make the playoffs, but they have some promise. In other words, they are in a position to make a run this upcoming year. They have some young front court players and Hayward is blossoming into quite a two-way player. Not to mention their first round pick this past draft in Trey Burke.

I've heard from sources (within the Jazz organization) that they aren't expected to re-sign Jamaal Tinsley. I doubt they want to throw Burke right into the fire, and that's where NDC comes in. NDC could start while they groom Burke for the future. This trade also frees up some cap space, allowing them some flexibility -- maybe a sign and trade could be in the works to bring in a veteran or something. Plus, Mills is rotting on our bench. He (I like to compare him to Eric Blesdoe) definitely could be a 15-18ppg kind of player if he got the touches on a daily basis. The Jazz can use this scoring. Remember how they averaged like 80-85 ppg back in 2012 against us?

Well, it's obvious for us why we need Jefferson. We let Gary Neal walk (aka the only guy would could get his own shot). We need a SG/SF combo player with some size, who won't be exposed defensively. I honestly believe that Jefferson didn't get a fair shot during his time with us. The first year was really a wash. He went from being the #1 scoring option to the 4th or 5th option. As always, it takes at least one year to learn the Spurs system (see sop re year improvements from Ginobili, Parker, and Kwahi). In his second year, he actually played pretty well (within the system and with regards to his role on the team). His scoring was much more "within the flow" of the team and he shot 44% from three.

RJ brings with him a ton of playoff experience (go-to scorer for the 2002-2003 Nets, which had back-to-back finals appearances). We won't have to worry about the "deer in the headlights look". Do I need to remind you how short our bench was in the Miami series? RJ has NBA-finals pedigree and that's the "it" factor that you can't teach.

The Barry trade was a nudge nudge, wink wink deal by the Spurs and Sonics. Seattle had no intention of keeping him, and the Spurs were planning on getting him back all along. Totally different situation from what happened with Elliott and Johnson.

Don't forget he couldn't crack the rotation with the Warriors. His confidence might be shot at this point and Pop's one of the worst confidence builders.
