Point taken, but I'd rather we pick up a guy like Joe Ingles (who is too slow to play NBA defence, but has lots of offensive smarts) before resorting to either of those s... and that's saying something.
Oh of course, I'd much rather the Spurs sign some no name or random guy from overseas than either of them, but I'd rather have RJ over Beasley at this point. Just to illustrate how ty he is and how low I value him as an NBA player. Beasley is probably the only guy in the NBA I'd rather have RJ over
It would be a low risk move for the Spurs to sign him for the vet min, if he is a total distraction like he was with the Suns, waive him.

Anyone who has watched the Spurs over the years should know damn well that they don't go after distractions. Why would Beasely be any different?

Beasley is a paycheck player who doesn't give a crap about the game, only the lifestyle. He's also an inefficient chucker. He's also circling the bowl. His PERs for his career: 17.2, 16.1, 15.5, 13.0, 10.8, in that order. Notice the trend?
I doubt the Spurs would even bring him in for a workout. I also doubt that he'd entertain a 12-15 minute backup role for minimum at his age. If he's going to get paid badly, he'll go where the shots are. That wouldn't be SA.
