Go Realsenal

I think he has/is surpassing Xavi right now, because Xavi is on the decline. Still amazes me as a player but i have Özil above him. Iniesta, i don't know. He's made off glass, that's what hurt him to be an even better player than he is but i buy that he's still better than Özil.
Did just see lefty's post about the numbers between them but ok... Özil is just 24 and will get better, can't wait.![]()
Couple things the Ozil signing does for Arsenal, beyond his play, of course
1. Shows the best players in the world they are willing to spend money, and are serious about winning trophy's
2. Strikers should pay special attention, as they would have one of the best midfields on earth to service them
3. Finally put some actual fear into opposing teams
4. Helps to heal the fanbase
5. Sets them up nicely for the January window, especially if they stay consistent/in form
6. Will bring even more fans into the fold from Germany/Turkey, as well as the marketing dollars that would surely follow
7. Brings a swagger back to Arsenal that's been missing since Cesc left (if not longer)
Losing Van P was huge. Giroud the go to striker, weak. Ozil with Van P would have been sublime.
I think the EPL is wide open. When Tottenham gets things together they will challenge. Man U & Man City are vulnerable. If Liverpool stays the course and Suarez returns... PL should be exciting this year.
I agree its wide open
And WTF Mou, I know Eto is coming but loaning Lukaku ?
Honestly the poor guy looks like a frog with those bulging eyes, and slits for eyelids.
Wrong about Giroud, I saiiiiiiiddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd
I'll cheer on Ozil as a gunner. He was always one of my favorite Madrid players and I hope he continues to do well.
So Wenger was just playing around when he went after the striker with teeth?
Not at all, but you need two viable strikers when playing a brutal schedule. Would Suarez/Higuain be better than Giroud? Maybe. Are they both also different strikers than Giroud? Yes. Giroud is a big physical type, good in the air and poaching around goal. Suarez/Higuain, especially the former, are good at creating for themselves and making things happen with the ball at their feet. What I'm saying is that different defense's require different matchups. If you can tailor your attack to what is being thrown against you, you'll have an advantage. A big guy/smaller guy combo with different skill sets would allow Arsene to do just that.
I fully expect Wenger to find a striker in the mid-season window, btw. It's also worth noting that AFC approached Villa about Benteke late last night before the window closed. Maybe he'll try again in January?
In the meantime, it looks like TGSTEL and Sanogo will fill in for games against weaker compe ion, and Walcott can do a decent job if Giroud goes down (a nightmare scenario, to be sure)

We just need Theo to maintain his form from last season, and they should be OK until Poldoski returns.
Theo should benefit more from Ozil than anyone else, imo
Last thing I'll say about Giroud is that his work rate this year is much higher than last, especially in terms of helping out the defense. He was crucial against totts both in the air and harrying their midfielders in the Gunner half of the field. Big improvement on that front, one that really doesn't show up much in the stats.
I know I've been making fun of Giroud, but last year was his 1st season in the EPL and he was adjusting
His other adjustment was that his former team Montpellier and Arsenal play a totally different style of football; Arsenal is more uptempo with a lot of movement off the ball
Giroud is also an excellent passer
I will always remember Henry's goal vs MU and Fabien Barthez; I watched that game live
My reaction was : "whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat "
King Henry![]()
I almost cried when he scored that goal against Galacticos in CL back in 2006, tbh. Too bad we came up short ( for brains Lehman and ty Almunia).
I almost forgot how Arsenal used to blow away lesser teams![]()
That i goal against Utd. is one of the greatest things I've ever seen anyone do in football.
Ok enough with the past
here is the future :
